Hi guys I recently started collecting comics and wondered if anyone else collects? At the moment I collect Spiderman Hulk Deadpool and Batman I also like the civil war series and plan to start ~Buffy Walking dead and spawn soon.

Thought it would be cool to talk about the hobby with other like minded people.

Awesome thread! I love comics.

I'm a huge Batman guy. I've been reading Batman (well, all the Bat-books, really) for as long as I can remember. I'm a big fan of getting comics in hardcover trades, and after a long time and some serious Amazon shopping I've assembled all the major Batman comics since the late 80's.

I've been mostly reading the "New 52" stuff lately. Because they're almost all on their first volumes hardcover wise, I've given a lot of them a shot. It hasn't been as great as I was expecting, but there's some really great stuff too. Moving forward I'm planning on reading Justice League, Batman, Detective Comics, Nightwing (SO good), Teen Titans, Superman, Action Comics (the first volume was hit-and-miss. I'm not the biggest Grant Morrison fan but I'm going to give it another shot) and one or two others.

I like Marvel a lot too, but I've been so into the new DC stuff that I'm a little behind. I usually read most of The Avengers books, Captain America, Winter Soldier, Iron Man (although I've drifted away from it lately) and another one I've having trouble remembering. The Avengers vs. X-Men hardcover just arrived from Amazon and I'm totally stoked to read it. I want to go back and read all the set up again first though.

I started reading comics about a year and a half ago so I'm still new to the genre but I've really enjoyed getting into them.

Right now I'm reading Wonder Woman, Nightwing, Batgirl and Justice League from the DC new 52. The only Marvel book I'm currently reading is Daredevil but I hope to read more in the future. I also try and keep up with the BTVS and A&F comics.

My favorite comic right now is Saga by Brian Vaughan and Fiona Staples...so good!

Seconding Saga!
Up until a month ago the only comics I had read had been the Buffyverse ones, but for some weird reason I found myself wanting to read other stories last month. (The theory I'm working with is this is just what happens when you turn 25. Others have backed me up lol).

I'm getting The Walking Dead Compendiums for Christmas. Right now, I'm reading Saga and it is amazing. What I really have the sing the praises of is Y: The Last Man. I devoured this entire series in less than two days. I have rarely enjoyed a piece of fiction more thoroughly than I did this comic. It was thrilling to read, and has one of the most beautifully touching and earned last pages you'll ever see. It's written by Brian K. Vaughan (He's writing Saga too, plus he wrote the No Future for You Arc of S8 A.K.A. the best arc of the season), at this stage I will read absolutely anything he creates. Comic, novel, lunch menu, ANYTHING.

I consider myself a comic newbie 'cause I haven't gone through nearly as much as some full-on fans have, but I do love comics. Mostly I'm into DC, specifically Batman. Although to be honest I'm not a fan of Bats himself (unless it's Dick!Bats) but I love the whole Bat family. So mostly the Robins and the Batgirls 😛 I haven't read much of the New 52 because my friend told me what they did and I'm a bit sour over losing some of my favourite characters or them being totally different. But I've started reading them because my friend wants me to catch up to her for Death of the Family for emotional support 😛 I'm branching out into the rest of the DC universe too though 'cause I've been looking into Teen Titans and Justice League and want to have a look into some of the heroes I've read in them!

I've read some Marvel too but not as much as I have DC. I think Deadpool is probably my favourite to read though! I also quite like Runaways. I'm trying to get through the main event stuff 'cause another friend lent me them. Basically they're full-on into comics and they read it and just throw it at me in a fit of "OMG YOU NEED TO READ THIS" 😛

Apart from DC and Marvel, they've got me reading Danger Club at the minute. I've also read some Buffy but not much.

I've converted to digital now. I only buy physical copies in case they're not available online, which are usually the Swedish ones.

It's a pain in the butt to try to sell the physical copies. They just took up too much space, and it was hard to bring them anywhere. Also, cheaper than importing.

I love reading Batman stuff~ I haven't got anything yet other than Buffy season 8 for Christmas cause comics confuse me.

I'm thinking of collecting New 52 Wonder Woman and Batman/Batgirl.

Also, Gotham City Sirens and the Harley Quinn solo series, cause I love the villainesses of Gotham, but it's so expensive OTL

I finally picked up Avengers vs. X-Men the other day and since then I've been blitzing through the last year or so of Avengers comics to kind of refresh myself. I've managed to avoid spoilers on it for ages so I'm pretty excited.

I'm a big Spider Man fan, so I collect Spider Man comics, although I have fallen out of the loop fairly recently, so I need to start reading them again and catch up a bit.

Most recently though, I've been reading IDW's excellent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. Some parts about it irk me, like how The Turtles and Splinter are re incarnations of old Japanese warriors, but heck, it's called 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles', so it's bound to be a bit ridiculous 😛
