Hello Everyone!

I used to love Buffy when it originally aired. I was only 12 years old for the first season, and I found lots of amazing role models on the show.

Unfortunately, I only caught the first few seasons because I moved to an area with really terrible television reception when I was 16. Now, finally, at 28 years old I have all of the Buffy episodes in my possession and I am re-watching them. When I get into the later seasons, I will actually be watching them for the first time!

I'm very excited, and thrilled to be a part of the fan-base once again.

Amusing fact: My rekindled interest in the show was sparked last month when I was volunteering at New Orleans Comic Con. I was standing guard outside the Green Room, and a celebrity guest smiled and winked at me as he walked past. It took me a minute to realize it was James Marsters... When I got home, I started looking up Buffy stuff and WHAM. 🙂

Hey welcome to BB. Try and steer clear of the season forums you've missed or you may get spoilt. Have fun.

Welcome to BB! That's very cool how James Marsters himself got you back into the show after 15 years only for just winking at you! 😛

Have fun watching Buffy, and feel free to let us know how you're enjoying it. Just be careful of being spoiled on the boards. 😉

Welcome! Your JM anecdote is really amusing. As the others have said, please don't spoil yourself on these boards, because we only use spoiler tags for the S9 comics. Get the full enjoyment out of the later seasons!

That has to be one of the coolest "rekindled" stories ever! James is a really nice man. I met him this year.

Welcome to BB! It's a great place to geek out about your love for Buffy without feeling like a geek! 🙂 Oh, and the later episodes are AMAZING.

Hello! Cool story! I'm with Willow My Love, the later seasons are fantastic. Onyssius What season did you leave off at?

Hey!! Welcome to the boards! 🙂 I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the eps as you watch them for the first time.

Thank you all for your support (and concern about spoilers - I'll be careful!)

I got through seasons 1 & 2 last week, and I started season 3 this week.

Living Dead Boy - I don't remember exactly where I left off, but I believe it was Season 4, either right at the beginning or a few episodes in.

I'm also planning to get "Angel" and watch that as well. I believe I only saw season 1 of that - maybe some of season 2. 😀

I'm watching Angel for the first time now!
I think one of the coolest things about coming back to a show I originally saw when I was a young teen is the fact that I can see so much more in it now. When I was younger, I took a lot of things at face value and totally missed other aspects. Now, I'm seeing the deeper relationships and meanings that Joss wrote into the show, as well as the little nuances of the actors' performances. It's really cool 🙂

I envy you a bit, seeing the show (part of it) for the first time. Now, how much did you get to see the first time around?

As you proceed, you can check out the episode threads, or ask questions.

Oh, a thought. You might be interested in one of the episode review podcasts out there, like Watchercast, Hellmouth, or (especially) The Potential Cast, which features a panel of people who are watching for the first time.

I wish I could recommend my own podcast, but you should wait until you're finished with the show and maybe read some of the comics before you listen.

Welcome, and beware of the spoilers!!! Sometimes we forget that everyone hasn't watched each episode a dozen times. And really, there is no way to avoid them if you post here. For example....

---> You'll see the new threads, and read a thread titled "Why did Buffy and Xander name their child "Crazy Jack"?"

----> You google Sarah Michelle Gellar, and read that "Sarah and Fred married in Rome, in the same cathedral where Buffy and Angel married in Season 6"

Of course the above are fake, but things like that happened to me when I googled SMG and when I looked at the titles.

If I were you, I'd like myself in a room for the next month, order pizzas, and enjoy the greatest TV series ever without any spoilers. 😀

It's okay. I'm taking it easy on the boards for now, and only looking at the boards for seasons I've watched in full. Thank you for the advice, though 😉

And I'm not exactly locking myself in a room, but I am currently working from home right now so it's kind of the same thing XD

I'm currently living with my family due to monetary constraints, so my mom cooks for me (for now) - waaaaay better than pizza!
