I'll be honest, I don't like the title at all.

WARNING: This is FANFIC Not a real TV Show

Thanks, was concerned for a moment it might have actually been a show we'd ALL missed.

HA! HA! *nervous laugh* You and your sarcasm, Al!

I'll have to agree with Al, though. The title could use some improvements. And really, sorry, the whole description.

I thought the description was good. A new hellmouth, new hunters, why hell mouths appear. Seems entertaining enough. detailed too

As for titles...bah...I never judge a work by it's title anymore. Up untill Joss burped out Buffy, it was a name I associated with rabbits. Buffy the Vampire Slayer doesn't exactly scream "War and Peace" or some grand title.

Buffy's title does tell you exactly what Buffy does though it comes no where near describing the guts and inner workings of the show, or what its about, at least not to me.

looking forward to reading it.

Spoiler

If anyone wants to put names forward for it i dont mind changing the title its just the first thing i could come up with that dident make it sound like a remake of buffy Oh and heres an extrac from it

The Cave lit by 7 lights was covered in branches and bones and in the middle a fountain. The fountain was white with marking all over the lid was sealed shut tight and on top was the graving of a goat with its tongue stuck out. A man walked in his face was covered in blood and from behind he was dragging a man screaming for help the man or shall I say Vampire snapped his neck as his body tumbled to the ground. He walked over to fountain and put his hand on it he uttered five words and those words were
"˜The First Will Rise Again'

I thought i might bring the first back

As a future English major, I'm gonna have to rewrite this in correct grammar (which was my problem with the description, not the essence behind the description):

The cave was lit by seven lights, covered in branches and bones with a fountain in the middle. The white fountain was sealed tight with a lid, markings etched all over the marble, and on top was the engraving of a goat with its tongue sticking out. A man walked in, his face covered in blood, and from behind he, was dragging a man screaming for help. The first man, or more accurately "vampire", snapped his neck and the body tumbled to the ground. He walked over to fountain and put his hand on it he uttered five words,

"The First Will Rise Again."

..As for the title, since you want to end the world, "Apocalypse Revisited" is a good title. Or if I knew a little more about your story (characters, direction) I could give you a better title. Sometimes it's better to save titling a project until after it's finished.

...about the title naming, as for the rest in order to write well you must first write. Not everyone is an english major in training, some just enjoy telling a story.

To be fair, the grammar in the original made it difficult to follow.

BB38 - It may be an idea to get somebody to beta read your fics before you post them. A large number of fanfic authours (and probably most real authors) do this, and it helps you to notice things that your mind skims over. This is often due to the fact that you know what you want to say, and so you read what you want to say rather than what you have written. Re-drafting and having someone read over your work can help iron out such kinks.

Anyway, I like the idea of the First coming back, without the necessary time constraints that were placed on it's development in S7.

^ I can attest to that. I'm an English teacher, writer, former English tutor, blah, blah, blah, and I STILL get people to read my stuff before I do anything major with it.

BTW, I in no way mean to discourage your writing. You have an excellent idea. And I do look forward to reading further. I would just like to help you improve your writing, because the idea is so good. Do you understand what I'm getting at?

What's with all the negativity in this thread? 😵

'All the negativity'.

Are you on something?

So far people have said that the title is a little off that went into a conversation about a better title.
There was a little sarcasm, but no more than there is on MOST of the threads on this board.
Then a discussion about grammar which as we are a medium in which we read our conversations and this is meant to be a teaser to a story, isn't a bad discussion to hold.
Then a comment for the chap/ess to stop blowing smoke and just post the darned thing.

You and your labels Friendly Lurker!

Just as a final point, in the past threads that have been simply about brewing up anticipation for a Fic have been closed, so BuffyBot should be thankful this one stayed open.

He's 16 and might not be a native English speaker. Despite what Lindsey said, all his posts are perfectly understandable so I don't know what the big deal about his grammar is. He's not writing a book or a screenplay.

Actually, assuming from the his writing style I assume the writer is native to English. Us foreigners, we might not have the fancy words or the always correct complex sentence structure, but generally we do know how to use punctuation correctly and also, we can tell the difference between spoken nd written language. And I just realized this probably makes me (and with me the 'us' I'm referring to) sound prett arrogant. But it's jsut something that comes from how we acqure languages. Like, when you're native to a language and you don't know an better, you just tend to write stuff down the way you'd say it in a real conversation. Due to the lack of mimics and tone, it can unfortunately become very challenging to read such a text. However, if you have to learn a language from scratch, they usually teach you more of how to write than to speak, so you learn from the beginning on how to express yourself properl in writing.
