Who doesn't love commentaries eh? (Okay so EDB said she doesn't watch them but I'm going to make her). Moving on, nothing better then a good, amusing and informative commentary so I though we should all share which commentaries are suggested to watch and which to avoid.

Joss' are always a hoot. Although I hear the ones on S7 were not so good. But anyway hes informative, amusing and I just love hearing them. It still make me chuckle when I watch the Innocence one and hes always going on about ASH not wearing pants, but I dunno whether to believe him.

I watched the one for Smashed the other week (Drew Z. Greenberg) and it was okay. It was his first episode so he was a bit "yay its me" but good and informative. Got the scoop that when the two guys danced in the cages they were originally meant to be unable to stop kissing each other (after taunting Willow for being lesbian) but Joss said something but also "we don't want to make homosexuality seen as a punishment." which was nice to see Joss is sensitive.

Watched "The Initative" commentary (Doug Petrie) and it was okay, not bad but not the best. Although he did make me laugh when Riley walked into Buffy's dorm he went "hehe that Chocolate poster, its so girly" then in a deep voice "but Riley's so manly". Dunno why, but made me chuckle.

Does the US S4 DVD have a "Wild at Heart" commentary because I so want to hear that but its not on the UK one.

Yeah, it does and it's hilarious (not to make you jealous or anything 😉 ) It's Joss, Marti Noxon, and Seth Green and they keep making fun of Veruca and saying she looks like she's gonna eat the mic when she's singing and that she's evil because she paints circles on the floor with her big toe. It's SO funny!!!

I love commentaries. I never realized before how interesting it is to hear about camera angles and writing problems..

Everything Joss is commentating is great, he just talks non stop without saying getting boring or interesting ..

It's so unfair.. I want to see all commentaries too but I have the region 2 dvds..

You are a big bad after all, now im all jealous and wanty.

Would it be wrong to import the US version jsut for that commentary?

I've only got round to getting the season 2 dvd and the only one i've put on so far is the Joss one. Such a funny and sharp guy. I think the whole non pants thing on Giles is just his sense of humor taking the crap out of ASH. Normally I get the R1 dvds whenever I buy dvds as they tend to have the best features. Not sure if its the same with Buffy but hey if Seth is on a commentry i'll be getting the US edition of that one.

Is there a commentry by the trio on any of their eps? That would be good!

I'm a huge fan of anything Joss. I loved his commentary on Welcome to the Hellmouth since it's the first eppy, and hearing him laugh and talk about budget and what he wanted to do and how it never happened...LOL. Or he'll say 'yeah we stopped doing scenes like this because we didn't realize how HARD they'd be - in particular the Xander skateboarding scene or the scene from the exterior of the Bronze looking into it).

Commentary for "Conversations with Dead People" by Nick Marck, Jane Espenson, Drew Goddard, Danny Strong, and Tom Lenk

There you go. Im currently addicted to buying the DVDs as they're £28/30 (depends on season) on cd-wow. Got S2, 3, 4 and 6 and 5 is coming tomorrow. Going to order S1 and S7 at the end of the work month when I get paid so I have a complete collection.

Great! Something else to look forward to on season seven...y'know....other than the actual season.... :lame:

I liked Jane Espenson's on Superstar. I loved it how when her name came up in the credits, she got all happy. 😀 But I love Joss's on Welcome to the Hellmouth, Hush, and Restless. Those were excellent. A lot was explained in Restless that I hadn't expected.

Everyone does that, except Joss as his name is slapped all over.

The only thing more harrowing than The Body is the commentary... The episode itself is still just that: an episode. Complete with ad breaks and end credits. Despite is all, part of you knows it's not real. But the commentary is rough because... it is. Yeah, it's fascinating about the little techy details (Tara getting steadicam, as opposed to Willow's handheld) but stuff like the mad dash to find a black tie instead of a blue jumper... 🙁

Doug Petrie is usually a fairly good bet. He takes a while to hit his stride in Bad Girls, but from there on in, he's great fun. Plus, you have to love his Pro-Faith leanings...

Oh yeah and Doug Petrie little bit about Faith and Buffy dancing in the S4 credits during The Initiative commentary. He was like "its coming up, its coming up. Its Aly, shes so cute and there it is!! (pause) and now its over"

Forgot to say this earlier, David Greenwalt's (think it was him) commentary for Reptile Boy is bad, very bad. He just describes whats going on with only a tidliest "inside scoop". He's like "and heres the girl running, and shes running and now shes jumped up the wall. she was quite a good actress. and now shes been caught and the guy in a robe is....a handsome young man." Dunno if it improved later but I turned it off after 10 minutes.

Shows ya how much I know. 😉

I just watched the Wild at Heart one. That was hilarious. I loved Seth Green.

"Yeah I watch Buffy. It's no Charmed, but it's got a thing."
