So I searched around this grand old place but didn't find anything posted about my topic. If it has been discussed or if I am posting this in the wrong place I am sorry!!! Feel free to delete if it's stupid or move it somewhere else. I don't mean to be a hassle

Because I have watched every episode a gazillion times I have started watching commentaries. I went through season 4 and then decided to skip back to season 2 before moving on to 3 and the ones following. [that sounded a little psycho sorry lol]

So I wonder...if other people do this. What was your favorite/most helpful/useful/explanatory/interesting commentary throughout the whole series?

So far mine is Hush....it just explained a lot of what Joss was thinking and I really enjoy hearing his point of view and creative process. I have to keep in mind I have only gone through the 2 seasons of commentaries...and obviously there is not one for every episode so....

I kind of suck...I love when DVD sets have commentaries yet I have so much to watch I rarely listen to them. I think I've listened to one Buffy commentary, and it was one of the season four episodes.

Although I did want to go back and just listen to them all when I had a few days free.

I love all the commentaries but IMO season 2's commentary for "Reptile Boy" was pointless.

The one i found most interesting I BtVS and AtS is uhmm... Dang it I can't think now lol.

I liked the commentaries but it has been a while since I listened to them. The three that I remember most are

Conversations with Dead People
Chosen
Im not sure why they stick out to me, I just liked them I spose.

I liked the Joss commentaries the best. He, Marti and Seth did a HILARIOUS commentary for Wild At Heart. I really enjoyed the Restless commentary as well...

I haven't gotten my DVD set yet, but I LOVE watching commentaries on all my favorite movies/shows. I am going to watch as soon as I get it, is there one for OMWF?

I enjoy the one's that Joss does, because he lets you into his head and heart. The others are hit or miss. Some are totally stupid, the writer's giggling to one another saying "yeah, I don't even know why we did it that way..." like THAT's supposed to be helpful or interesting to us?

I like the panel interviews too, but some of the commentaries I've seen are a sad waste of time.

Yup, Joss does a commentary on it, its ok. Ive watched all the episodes that have commentary with it on. The Joss ones are pretty good, I dont mind the Doug Petrie ones, but it really got on my nerves the way he cracked the same joke about how he wished his name appeared in bigger font and in neon or whatever in pretty much every commentary he did.
I enjoyed the ones with the actors like CWDP, LMPTM and Dirty Girls, sure they didnt all give massive insights but I still enjoyed listening to it. For some reason the dvd's they sell down here dont have the Wild At Heart commentary, its so annoying. The only commentary I couldnt stand was the one on Consequences, it was so incredibly dull.

There was one great one that I remember; I believe it was with Tim Minear and Mere Smith. It was circa pregnant Darla, but I couldn't say which episode. Quite probably the one in the alley. All I remember is that those two were hilarious together. I don't think it was particularly insightful, but it was very funny!

I love the commentaries in general, some are obviously better than others though.

Always liked Joss commentary on Restless.
I almost prefer to watch that episode with commentary so I understand something 🙂

My favorite commentaries had to of been from Restless, Hush, and Chosen. Honestly, I just really like commentaries. 🙂 I love hearing about what the Cast/Crew/Writer thought of the episode, and comparing it to my own opinion. : popcorn:

I love the commentaries, Joss, Jane and Doug are the best at them, always telling you interesting little facts and they are very enthusiastic about it. DB was good in his one for soul purpose(the one i think he directed)

The writers do the best commentaries - they talk about the story and the thinking that went into creating the story and I love that. The directors tend to talk a lot about camera shots, which is good if you're into film production but not so great if you're not (i'm not, although now when ever i see directors using 'Over, Over, Two-shot' in other tvshows/films I think... is it time constraints or lazy film making? - Thankyou Joss).
