I knew a chick that caught a bag of popcorn on fire from inside the microwave. There are quite a few foods that can go aflame from inside a micro actually.

You'd be surprised. If the interior lining starts to corrode they can arc and set fire. Mine had started to rust on the door and your fire prompted me to buy a new one. You cost me £99! 😄

Sort of answers the question really. Why the man swallowed a fly, why he swallowed a fly I don't know why .. .. .. Well the fly had become such a tasty treat as it was well cooked after being in the microwave for too long. (Spider not needed)
