Is there anyone else here who gets these stupid notifications?
Some government official of some obscure little country managed to escape just before the rebels took power. He took the entire national treasury with him, and needs someone (you, obviously) to provide a bank account in which to deposit the funds, for which you will receive several hundred thousand dollars as a commission, sometimes even tax free. Or
You have been awarded first prize in a contest you not only didn't enter, but have never before heard of. Or
Someone's parent or business partner is dying, and, having heard about your sterling character and dependability, wants to make the executor of his estate ontil his children reach legal age, for, once more, a commission ranging in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
I even got one recently, supposedly from the FBI, informing me that there was a crate of currency, estimated to be in the neighborhood of several million dollars, addressed to me and waiting at Laguordia Airport in New York.If I didn't claim it soon, legal action was going to be taken against me.
Not a week goes by that I don't get at least 2 or 3 of these things. I never reply to any of them, never open any of the attachments accompanying them, and almost never read them anymore, but, still, they keep coming.
If just one of them had as much as a shred of truth to it, I could hace a huge Buffy Boards party and pay everyone's expenses for coming.
