Connor a Vampire Slayer?

I just wanted to know when he was going to lose the whole chip on his shoulder thing! Why can ATS never have a happy ending i'm not being idealistic, you'd just think that out of how many episodes they'd at least have a really happy ending for at least one ep!

lol true but then it has got that kinda darker tone which makes happy endings few and far between!

Connor is not a vampire slayer because according to Joss Whedon vampire slayers are always females. He just has the strength and mobility of a vampire. I hope they answer exactly what he is but that would mean he has to come back on the show because nobody rememebers him except for Angel and Lilah.

I always thought that Justine was another Slayer, becuase she was good at slaying them when we first saw her! 😉
And whats with everyone using my username for a storyline! Heh heh!

I thought that was where they were heading with Justine at first when she showed up, since Buffy had died recently, I thought there was now a third slayer...

Connor is definitely not a male vampire slayer but he is the closest either show has ever come to one. Being the offspring of two vampires seems to have endowed him with the vampires strengths but none of their weaknesses. He is strong and would have probably gotten stronger had the events in 'Home' not happened. All Buffy and Angel characters have got stronger as they grow older, Buffy, Angel, Cordelia and Willow are the four most obvious, look at them during Buffy season 1 compared to Buffy Season 7, Angel season 4 and the difference is quite amazing. He is fast, he has the senses but he doesn't have the need for blood, the reaction to sunlight or need to be invited into a human residence. At least I can't remember him having to be invited into a house. He has a soul, it was affecting Darla before he was even born, but has demon in him, the anti demon violence spell reacted when he attempted to hit Angelus. His strength is probably equal to that of a vampire of about 50-70 years old, thus it explains why Faith could man sorry woman handle him. Slayers are stronger than Vampires generally, Angel says so to Buffy in Angel Season 1 The Sanctuary. It also explains how Angel can usually beat him. It kinda would have been interesting to see if he dusted or just died like a normal human.

So far, to our knowledge, there has never been a male vampire slayer. There have been men that hunter vampires, known as vampire hunters (to distinguish them from the Slayer) such as Holtz but they were human, skilled humans no doubt but they did not have the strength, speed or healing of a slayer, nor were they connected to past vampire hunters like the current slayer(s) is/are connected to past slayers. Connor is the nearest thing to a male vampire slayer but he is not connected in anyway as far as can be seen.

Slayers were always female and from the series we know of a few and from the novels and comics we know of more. Of course the slayers mentioned in the novels may not be buffy canon except for Fray who was created by Joss Whedon and is therefore a canon character.

Slayers from the Series

Primitive/First Slayer - created by infusing a demon spirit with a teenage girl, this primitive was the First Slayer of Vampires (seen in Buffy Season 4 Restless, Season 5 Intervention, Season 7 Get It Done)
Chinese Slayer killed in 1900 by Spike During the Boxer rebellion(Seen in Buffy Season 5 Fool For Love)
Korean Slayer in the 30's who knew the pre-dummy demon hunter Sid (Mentioned in Buffy Season 1 The Puppet Show)
Nikki Wood- the slayer killed by Spike in New York 1977, the mother of Season 7 character Principal Robin Wood (Seen in Buffy Season 5 Fool For Love, Season 7 Lies My Parents Told Me)
Buffy Summers- the slayer we all know and love but not the active slayer (Seen in Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 1-7, Angel Season 1 I Will Remember You, The Sanctuary)
Kendra - the slayer that was activated when Buffy 'died' by drowning at the end of Season 1 and was killed by Drusilla at the end of Season 2 (Seen in Buffy Season 2 Whats My Line Pts 1-2, Becoming Pt 1)
Faith - the current slayer, activated when Kendra died, turned evil, went into a coma, came out and after a while sought redemption, went to Jail, escaped to help Angel when he reverted to Angelus and then helped Buffy close the Hellmouth and stop the First Evil (Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 3 almost all from Faith Hope and Trick Onward, Season 4 This Years Girl, Who Are You, Angel Season 1, Five by Five, The Sanctuary, Season 2 Judgment, Season 4 Salvage to Orpheus, Buffy Season 7 Dirty Girls to Chosen.
In Season 1 Nightmares when the Master is released he mentions that Buffy is prettier than the last slayer, since this is a Nightmare the factual content of that statement is put in doubt Also since the master has been stuck for 60 years or so, it is doubtful he knew the last slayer (as in the one before Buffy) but it is likely he is talking about the last one the Master met before he was trapped.
An Early 18th Century Slayer is mentioned by Giles in Season 5 Fool for Love. She forged her own weapons.

Canon Slayers
Melaka Fray - slayer activated hundred(s) of years in the future, she is a thief and is a twin, her brother who gained the link to the slayers past was turned into a vampire and attempted to bring the demons back. Melaka had the physical attributes (strength, speed etc) but none of the memories and has only recently started discovering her heritage. (Seen in Fray Comics No 1-8, Tales of the Slayer)
From the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Movie we know of three other slayers all killed by Lothos or under his direction. One seems to be a princess and the others a bar maid/serving wench and prostitute from the Origin Comics Merrick Buffys first watcher mentions a magyar peasant, an indian princess and a chinese prostitute. The only revelation of time period is the Dark Ages in the film and in the comic the peasant and princess are in the Dark Ages whilst the Chinese Prositute is in the 18th Century.

If anyone wants me to do a list of slayers from the novels then I will try but since I do not have all the novels or comics it will be incomplete. I have a lot of the novels and some comics so the list would be quite big but not complete.

wow very good list lol!!!!
Slayers are always girls as Andrew said ''Why are slayers always girls?''
''Cos girls are cooler.''
and in the movie Merrick said that Buffy should use her periods etc as a warning system for vamps and other uglies lol

Thank you all but I am sure it is incomplete. Also according to information the original US version of Buffy Season 1 Welcome to the Hellmouth had an intro including two slayers one of which was Lucy Hanover, a long dead slayer whose Ghost has become popular in both novels and comics as a link to the Ghost roads and the spirit realm. Since this was only shown in the US and despite my best efforts I have been unable to track it down I am unsure whether to count it as canon.

Slayers are always girls as Andrew said ''Why are slayers always girls?''
''Cos girls are cooler.''

Also from Angel Season 4 Salvage to back up the quote from Andrew

CONNOR
(to Faith) So, vampire slayers. I was told about them. How come you're always girls?

FAITH
I dunno. Better at it, I guess.

CONNOR
You haven't seen what I can do.

FAITH
Let's not.

There was something one of the Buffy writers wanted to do and that was to give Xander the slayer powers for an episode. I believe what was supposed to happen was that Xanders nature male aggressive made him become dangerous very quickly. I believe it was a womans ability to not get so aggressive that made them better slayers, of course the idea is flawed so the episode never happened.

Chances are though back when the slayer was first created it would have been something like that only the shadowmen chose a girl because they thought that even with the demon spirit giving her strength that she would be more docile and easier to control (ala the theory behind the alien girl/woman in the Species film). Of course they were wrong.

and in the movie Merrick said that Buffy should use her periods etc as a warning system for vamps and other uglies lol

Yes that was a precursor to the slayers apparently natural ability to sense evil, Giles says that Buffy should be able to sense if a vampire was in the Bronze in Season 1 Welcome to the Hellmouth. This idea was never fully explored by Buffy's ability to detect vampires did improve, I don't think she was ever really at the point where she could sense them consciously.

In the Movie there was also the birth mark, according to Buffy a big hairy mole which she had removed, that identified a slayer. This was never really mentioned again and in Season 7 the potentials were identified by Magick not by a mole so this aspect was probably ignored and dropped.

Angel leaves too many things unanswered for too long. You can only leave a storyline hanging long enough before it stops being mysterious and starts getting boring.

hey I was just rewatching the epiodes and I thought that would be great if conner was a girl instead, and being from 2 vamps became thew next slayer after faith! But Icome here and theres already a thread on it... but i still recon it all fits 😀

Okay thats an interesting idea, the ultimate irony, the offspring of two vampires becoming the nemesis to all vampires. Brings up all sorts of questions like what would this girl be like after Quartoth (spl) the darkest of the dark worlds, how would she relate to Angel, Cordy and the gang.
