I remember an episode of angel that was on channel 5, i read the description which said that angel was trying to find out if connors sole purpose was to be the father of jasmine, did he find out if this was true and if it wasn't true then what is connor's purpose?

It was Peace Out, 4.21. When Angel goes to the spider-demon dimension and while he's fighting to find out Jasmine's name, the guy in the temple is all like telling Angel that he's really there to see what to do about his son. We don't really get a straight answer whether Connor's existence is only there to provide for Jasmine.
