Considering to not talk to people who haven't seen FireFly

As a quality of life sorta thing, I am contemplating to discontinue talking to people in detail about Sci-Fi things, if they do not even know what FireFly is.

I have no problem if they are willing to pick up the box set and watch the awesomeness happen in front of their eyes.

Because I simply can not imagine someone not knowing about this. Not having seen it, not having seen this twice or three times .. or more!

ArGH, brb, .. gotta start Serenity again.

Hahaha, I saw half of a Firefly episode and a quarter of Serenity then got bored and turned it off. Guess you can't talk to me. :biggrin3:

At least you have started watching it, so you know you like it or not ..

But I will discriminate against those who haven't seen it, perhaps, like I said, I am considering it. 🙂
 
2 episodes down 12 to go plus Serenity 😀 phew I'm not going to be ignored 😉

I know I know only 2 watched but i'm catching up on 24 and Lost as well lol...

Yeah. It doesn't do the world any good.
I really love Firefly, it got too little screentime. Just like Dollhouse 🙁
I love getting people to watch it though - "no it's great, it's like they're cowboys... but in space" , that usually weirds them out enough to at least give it a glance

I'm cutting the quote there for a reason. 😉 Since from this part people don't need to have watched it or even liked it to be able to talk to you. And it even says talk in deatil about Sci-fi. So you can still talk to everyone as long as those criterias aren't fullfilled. But there's always the problem about defining what detail and sci-fi means to people....

In all fairness. Not talking to people that don't know, like or even seen a certain show or movie is silly to me. And if you don't talk to them how will you be able to convince them to watch the show? 😉 Because more people sure need to watch it. You don't spread the love by ignoring people.

I can't know upfront if someone knows about FireFly, so it's silly if I by default not talk to anybody until they identify to me they're well aware of the show 😉 So it's a pun, .. Don't you guys worry. I didn't say I am doing it btw, I just said, I am considering it .. as in .. something someone would say when they hear others haven't watched it; which would seem implossible since it's a shame they haven't (as being a fan). Therefor, a pun.

I would ignore you if you said that... on this board.

I don't think it's right to ignore someone that hasn't watched something, however, if you're going to get in a serious sci-fi discussion about, say... sci-fi in the 21st century... You have a right to ignore them. 🙂

I'm not into Sci-Fi stuff (I consider Buffy to be the supernatural, not Sci-Fi) and that's why I haven't watched Firefly.

I caught Dollhouse too even before I knew it was by Joss and it didn't interest me much either.
 
I watched Firefly, it was good, some eps were great but I didn't get 'hooked' like with BtVS and Angel. I blame this on the fact there's only 14 episodes total.

Same here. If it had gone on for 3, 4 full seasons, I think I might even have liked it better than Angel(my second favorite show after Buffy).
Obviously I can't ignore ppl who don't know about firefly - too much fun talking to them about other things 🙂

I appreciate all your feedback on the topic btw 🙂 You guys are a great bunch.

In order of best to worst 🙂 In fact, Firefly/Serenity might even be more of a tie with Angel. I'll have to tell you after I re-watch it.
