When I move on from someone, I'm done. I don't consider myself to still be in love with any of my exes, including my first love. I never even think about them really. I'm a big fan of leaving the past in the past. So, I'm sure that's part of what colors my Bangel opinions.

Just quoting this because it's the last post but, generally, I'm the same. I reason that if I break up with someone we break up for a reason. I think the issue with Bangel is that they broke up due to circumstance.

My personal issue is that love doesn't happen in a vacuum (imo) and you cannot seperate the love from the lover. So when talking about the ships, I'll talk about my personal enjoyment of it and whether or not I think it's what the character actually wants.

Another problem is, that my personal interpretation of the cookie dough speech is based upon my personal experience. Basically what Buffy shouldn't be putting too much pressure to define herself through a man. Of course she reflects on a future with Angel but it's still subject to the person she'll be.

Sure. Past should be in the past. But some things never end, and they come back to us in the future. And that's Bangel for me.
