Coolest Buffyverse Characters

No. I feel there's a difference between a cool person and a person I wanna hang out with. If I wanna hang out with someone, I'm looking for someone fun regardless of their coolness status. Oz is cool, but I don't really care for music the way he does. I'm more into TV shows and books, like Xander and Willow, which honestly, I won't call cool, they're too insecure to be cool. I hope my rambling makes sense. 😀

Yeah makes scene. 🙂 I guess everyone (person & culture?) uses it differently. We use it as well as anglicism in our language. I remember that it was used to describe a person who was easy-going, kinda rebellious, hearing "loud" music, is nonchalant, reckless and does "cool" stuff like smoking or drinking, kinda like Candy!Giles, Spike or Faith. Today it's used, at least from me and my environment, when someone is nice, pleasant, comfortable to be around, just plain likable.
 
Well Buffy was the "coolest" in an American sense of the word - wouldnt you say? She had the fashion sense of the day, athletic, the looks, humor.

Is popular cool? Cos Cordy welcomed her with open arms. And if popular is cool then how could anyone argue that Cordy wasnt the coolest during school years?

I use the word "cool" or "coolest" to describe something that I personally like and think is great. I'm not going to say something is cool if I personally do not think it is cool. And I do not want much to do with things I dont think are cool... maybe we need a specific definition of cool if the fact I would like to hang with Buffy because I THINK SHE IS THE COOLEST is a problem.

Who wouldnt want to hang with (in their opinion) the coolest character? I certainly dont wana hang with Xander.

hang out in the friendship kind of way:
1. Faith: she differs a lot from me and I think I could learn from her and see things from another perspective
2. Drusilla: Share the love for dolls and creepyness with her
3. Fred: could learn about physics from her and it is always good to be with nerds
4. Jonathan: I was an outsider at school and I would want to talk to him and make him feel less lonley

honorable mentions:
5. Dawn: I want to hug her sometimes and make her feel appreciated, I do not know if that would work though
6. Lilah: would not mind discuss ethics with her, since here also I would learn something and see the world with other eyes

date material (as I said in the date post) are Spike and Glory (although I do not think it would work with any of them/they would not like me)
 
The way I use the word cool being cool and the ones I'd like to hang out are not the same thing. It can be but definitely not always. I'm very far from cool but around some people I can be good/fun company.

Around others though I'm a total bore if you even notice me.

I do get the whole calling people you like as being cool. Not just how I use it.

For me cool and hang out with may also mean different things, but also I can hang out with someone, who is cool, but also with someone who is not.
If it was for the"coolest" characters for example I would say Gwen or Illyria, because of their style and badass behaviour. But those are not the people I would like to hang out with as a primary option, as I have said in my previous post.
 
I feel this is a trick question. There are some cool people in the B'Verse but I would not want to hang out with them as they are bumhats... but then there are alot of uncool people that I would never hang out with either as they are bumhats. Willy. I would hang out with Willy. And Merle. Yeah.
 
The characters that I would most like to hang out with? I guess they would need to be people that fit into my life.

Definitely Spike. I could picture sitting with him in this great punk rock bar sinking beers and smoking cigarettes and playing pinball and pool. I think Spike would dig me somehow too. We're similar.

I would love to sit at an English pub with Giles drinking real ales from a handpump while hearing stories about his Ripper days. Then going back to his place to go through his vinyl collection.

I think a day out with Cordelia (more AtS 2-3) would be brilliant fun. She's witty and her banter is on point. I feel like she would give me great advice. Actually she reminds me a lot of one of my dearest friends.

I think Anya could be good fun too. Just the two of us, a bunch of good beer and listen to her unique views and journey through history. There aren't many people that could tell you about vikings and the roman empire and the dark ages.

Well, I would hang out with a lot of the characters, at different times and for different reasons:

I would love to talk about books and demons with Giles and Wesley, about music and life with Oz and about science with Fred.
Tara and Willow could give me a magic for dummies beginner's class.
I'd be great to shop with Buffy or Cordy (not at the same time 'cause they aren't very fond of one another) and also Anya.
I would love to do something artsy with Angel, but since I have a huge crush on him, I'd probably be too anxious or intimidated. I could, however, just stare at him any time of the day and/or listen to him talk about his life and important historical moments he experienced first hand.
I would also like to do something with Lilah - preferably of the legal and non-life-threatening variety.
Finally, I would hang out with Lorne. Whenever and however he wanted. I would even sing karaoke for him, though I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want me to.

There are a lot of cool Buffyverse characters to choose from... I would even hang out with Andrew - who's not cool - under certain circumstances (for example, to make fun of him).
