Cordelia a scooby?

I'm new to the whole Buffy thing (and know even less about the Angel series) but was Cordy ever really a scooby gang member or not?

Seems like she pops in for a few minutes to make her obligatory "I'm better than you" speech and then isn't seen for the rest of the show.

However, I do like when she slaps Giles on the face during "Gingerbread" after he was knocked out and tells him, "One day, you'll wake up in a coma"
 
I'd say she was. She dated Xander and hung out with the group allot.

that's kinda funny because she did... although that couldn't have been foreshadowing.
 
She was to an extent! Because after finding Xander and Willow having the smoochies then she distanced herself from the group. She did come around and help out a little, and i thought she was awesome in Graduation Day!

But she isnt my favourite character in Buffy, I prefer her in Angel when she calms down and she grows up and we can see how much she has grown up!
 
Yeah, i'd say that Cordy became a Scoobie. Certainly for the last half of season 2 and the first half of season 3 anyway.
 
Just thought of this...
If Cordy was a Scooby, then why did she take off for L.A.?
I get her parents had issues and whatever else, but I always assumed (from other fans) that Scoobies stick together...that's why Willow never got her own show and Angel did.

So therefore using that logic, I guess she never really was a full-fledged member of the gang.
Oh, well.
 
Well Cordy wasn't a scooby like Xander and Willow were. Shoot, even Oz was more involved when season 3 hit. But I think she was there mostly because she went out with Xander. Although, in the ep Dark Age she told Buffy that she too cared about Giles and that she wanted to help. And that was before her and Xander started dating. I think that Cordy wasn't an "official" scooby. I mean, she wasn't good friends with either of them especially not Buffy. The reason why she left Sunnydale is probably because she was scared that people would start talking about her father losing everything. I mean can you imagine being one of the richest people in the school and then find out that you're dad cheated on his taxes causing the IRS to take away all your belongings? I would leave town too.
 
A though question, I'll give you that. Because she didn't want to become one of them, but she loved it at the same time, and she left at the end and never came back. So, I think Oz and Angel are Scoobies, but Cordelia is not.
 
Oh come on! She was definately a scooby...okay, so it was mainly because of her relationship with Xander, but look at Prophecy Girl...or, as stated before, Graduation Day. She was...but she left to help ease into the whole Angel spin-off. Joss certainly thought of her as a scooby.
 
Cordelia wasn't always a scoobie but she definitely came into the role of being one.

She had her little ditsy ways that made the show have alot of humour combined into it. As much as she probably didn't want to be part of the scooby gang she was. She was in the library scenes quite often and she seemed as if she was happy and part of the team.

Sometime though, it was the others who didnt think of her as a scooby...like with Buffy sometimes not giving Cordy a job when there was a task to be done.

Basically though, Cordy evolved into a scooby.

when she was with xander. than he had to go be a bad boyfriend so naturally she left that whole group.
could ya blame her?!
