Cordelia back in Sunnydale

Alright I was rewatching season three of Angel and I was dreading coming to it's end knowing that in the next season Cordy was going to be all evil. When it hit me for no apparent reason that the scooby gang doesn't even know what a wonderful champion Cordelia had become and it kinda well hurt a little. When Willow arrives in orpheus she doesn't even notice that Cordy's being possessed by some renegade higher power. That's when I got to thinking why didn't Cordy ever go back to sunnydale Angel went back plenty of times buffy and willow's been in LA for significant arc's(Sanctuary,Orpheus) so why didn't the Cordy of season 3 go to sunnydale I really wanted to see the reactions of the scooby gang on the new cordelia. It could have been before or after xander and anya's wedding I dont know. But having xander and Cordy seeing each other and reminiscing on their past and making amends to one another simply admiring the the people they both had become. I think it could have made for a great episode. Also I'm not saying that's how the episode had to go or when cordy had to come but I think if done right it could have made for a great episode.

It would have been cool if Cordelia went to Sunnydale on her vacation with Groo. But let's be realistic, she would never go back to that hell hole.

I would have liked for her to have gone to Anya and Xander's wedding - I do know what you mean about how they never knew how good she became, how dedicated, how she drove the Fang Gang and kept them together as a family...

ETA - how selfless she became as well.

i ALWAYS think about this too. i really wish she had been there for an episode. or part of one, at the very least. it's kind of a shame. i wonder if it was ever something they considered and it just didn't pan out.

It would have been nice for the new and improved Cor to return to Sunnydale just for the fun hell of it, but I don't think it would have ever created a 'Wow, look what Cordelia's become' moment because despite how bitchy and stereotypical-head-cheerleadery Cordelia could be as was her trade mark, I think the Scoobies knew what she was like deep down. That she did care about these things in a big way and them being together mattered to her. I mean she does, despite her snarky comments, continually choose the outcast slayerettes over her popular friends time and time again. She values the friendship that is there and doesn't want to lose it, even after Xander betrayed her.

The only thing that would be a difference would be that Cordelia while still very good with the sharp comebacks, no longer hid behind the rich girl facade. Saving the world one innocent at a time was Cordy's priority now and she wasn't afraid to show it; she no longer hid it. Heck, she was proud of what she did and what her role was with the visions.

But then I always imagine, even with a 'Wow, Cor has visions?!' moment, once she was back in Sunnydale she'd be back in the heart of the Scoobies and she'd easily slip into her old habits of 'Tact is just not saying true stuff, I'll pass'/'Can I go now?' because that's who she is with those guys and I think she loves that just as much as they would. The one moment to kick back and act like they used to be. You know?

Now this may be my Cangel love speaking, but...I always would've liked to see Angel and Cordelia come to Buffy as a couple...maybe even at the Xander and Anya wedding. You gotta admit, it would've had great potential. Especially because Xander never liked Angel, lol. Also, the looks on everyone's faces would be priceless.

I used to always think about cordelias funeral, I'm assuming she had one, and always wondered if the scoobs would have gone, i mean did they even know she was in a coma and would they have gone to the funeral considering the hostility between angel and buffy and co in this season

The way I understood it, by the time the funeral would've taken place the whole Scooby Gang was already spread all over Europe.
Btw, talking about the funeral, do you think it was by day or by night? I mean because of Angel.

Ooh, good point... while I'm not yet that far into Angel S5 (Hellbound just aired on free TV here) I'm struck with the thought of a funeral in bright sunshine, all of the guys around the grave and Angel, alone and brooding, in a W&H-limo a couple of yards away... wouldn't that be so typical?

btw Social Suicide, I'm still slightly mad at you for spoiling me about Cordy's death couple of months ago. *throwing cotton wool balls at you*

What was I supposed to do? I had to share my grief about Cordy dying! No I'm just kidding, I knew long before you knew about her death, but well, what can I say...If I hadn't tols you, you wouldn't have watched my video 😛 and I sooo wanted someone to watch the video.

First, we have others, Spike and Harmony, who also would've trouble attending, and, come on, at least Harmony would want to be there, after all they were best friends or so for a while in high school. Second, and most importantly, it's Cordy, Angel would care more than that.

Gosh, I totally forgot about Harm... you've got a very good point there. Without her, I'd still say that's probably the way it would end out...

I still wonder with Spike... would he have problems stepping out into the sun or not? The (meta)physics of his ghost-whatever state are mindboggling to me... Well, I understand he'd be loathe to put it to a field test. :lmao:
