I know this show is really old, but I've just recently discovered this show and it's awesome! Gotta love that Veronica Mars wit! How cool is it though that Willow and Cordelia both guest star in this show together? And Kendall Casablancas (Charisma Carpenter's character) reminds me so much of Cordelia in early Buffy - except sluttier. haha

Joss Whedon himself is also in an episode, in case you hadn't noticed.

Charisma is pretty good in this, though not particularly likeable. Her character isn't really meant to be sympathetic in this one though.

I love VM! It was my favourite show before I discovered Buffy. Both Charisma and Aly are great, though perhaps not for their characters (ie Kendall), but for their acting. Joss being in it is new to me, though. Which ep is he in?

And LoVe forever! 😀

I've started to think about to watch this show. It sounds really tempting now that I know that both Charisma and Aly is in it too. 😀

Sorry, this is a little OT, so feel free to ignore it if you want, but: Is it worth watching? I've heard that the last season is really bad and I don't want to see two good seasons and then be really disappointed with how it ends and start to dislike characters. On the other hand I've also heard that Joss loves this show and he (and you guys 🙂) usually have really good taste. 🙂

oh watch it, it's a great show
The Joss Whedon episode is a great one. Second season, "Rat Saw God." Veronica is doing some investigation on Amelia DeLongpre without Wallace - she makes a comment about how at the car rental place it would have been a two person job - and Joss Whedon plays the manager of the car rental place. He has his picture up as employee of the month and everything. It's hysterical. It's really great to see him onscreen.

Just as an aside, I was looking to see what else he's been onscreen in, and he was in the Firefly episode called "The Message," and he is uncredited, but he plays a man at the funeral.

It is definitely worth watching, even the third season if for nothing else than just to see what happens. But you don't need to, although you'll probably want to once you start watching.

Some guest stars of the third season are Rider Strong from Boy Meets World, and the Anthropology professor from Saved by the Bell, the College Years.

But I will always recommend checking it out. I love it!

I love Veronica Mars, I always thought the style of the script was somewhat similar to that of Buffy. I like seeing Alyson play a less positive character as well.

I always wondered what really happened to Charisma's character on this show.

She was supposedly killed by her boyfriend, but the gunshot we heard was off-camera, and nobody ever discovered her body... just blood stains. The usual rule in shows like this is, no body = not really dead.

Oh, it's a really great show, fun, entertaining, witty and interesting. You get invested in the story and the characters pretty fast and the first two seasons are fantastic. The third season isn't bad per se, it just doesn't measure up to the first two and there were some changes people (me included) that people disagreed with. But I definitely don't think it's a reason to be turned off of the show and the writing is still great, so you won't be having characters behaving out of character even then.

I was just thinking of saying this. Completely agree. The first two seasons are awesome the third... meh. Not good but not bad.
I was sad to see the show end after it though (but having seen the filmed preview of s4 I can see why it was cancelled)

As for Charisma Carpenter I think she's great in it and also "Kendall Casblancas" might be one of the best soap-opera-y names I've seen on TV.

^ Or, be original, and don't ship anything. I didn't find any of the Veronica Mars couples appealing in any way. 😛

I wouldn't say any in any way but close enough.
I've only watched the episodes with Charisma in it in season 2 and I liked the show, I've been meaning to watch it all from the beginning.
