Was it ever mentioned on BtVS or Angel if Buffy and the Scoobies were told what happened with Cordelia in season 4 and 5 of Angel? Xander especially might want to know that she's gone.

When Angel comes back in "Pangs" and sees Willow, she mentions about hearing that Cordy was working for him. And Willow and Cordy have a phone call when Harmony comes back (in Angel). Also, in Season 5 Anya mentions Cordy, but not in a way that implies that they know what's going on with her currently.

It wasn't mentioned in S7 of BtVS. The last thing that related to Cordy is, Willow went to L.A. to restore Angel's soul. She didn't even know she was pregnant or being possessed by evil. I don't know if she or other Scoobies knew anything more. But in season 8...

Buffy knew that Cordelia is dead. She mentioned it in her dream in issue 20 when she was back in high school. Old Cordy was being mean to Willow. And Buffy comforted Willow and said things like "Maybe one day you'll be a mega witch and Cordelia maybe dead".

Well, I agree that they should have mentioned it in S7. Such a shame. 🙁

I think it's just another one of those things we got robbed of when Buffy moved to UPN. NO CROSSOVERS!!!! Was the rule and it was obeyed and we all cried.

I would have loved to have everyone see adult Cordy/Wes and Angel as a leader, see Angel and Buffy meeting after she came back from the dead, but WB cut me deep.... DEEP I SAY, not to mention canceling Angel when it's ratings were improving.

RAWR!

RAWR!

Season 7 of Buffy and season 5 of Angel featured cross-overs.

RAWR!

Um, hon. Fred called and Andrew answered the phone.
Plus, there was the whole Angel taking the necklace to Buffy in the last episode. Willow was in Angel Season 4 Episode 15 (I think it was 15, don't quote me).

The only crossovers that took places were when Buffy was going off the air. At that point Joss was basically demanding that he get a couple of crossovers and I think UPN and WB were more open considering Buffy would be off the air in 4 weeks. It's true! I remember hearing this stuff.

They deserved to know about Cordy and Cordy deserved to be mourned or at least mentioned on Buffy. What a shame. ::huh1::

I'm sure they kept up to date. It appeared that Cordelia and Willow had many phone calls, as well as Willow and Fred and Willow and Angel, too.

They did miss out on something big. The whole First storyline spanned the globe. It should have been a multi episode crossover between both shows. Or, maybe the whole Wolfram & Hart being offered to Angel was part of a plan to keep Angel distracted while the First dealt with Buffy and the Slayers.

It appears to me that after Cordelia left the Scoobies she virtually dropped out of their world. There were mentions but nothing more than that. I was surprised that Xander never mentioned her or any of them in passing or wondering what Cordelia would say in some situations. To me it looks as if Anja took over from her and that was it.

I really wish we had gotten to see the gang hear the news of Cordelia's death. But Season 5 of Angel aired the year after BtVS was ended, so there wouldn't have been hope for that.
I do wish we'd gotten to see a big crossover event, though. I would have loved Buffy to see what a good man Wesley had become, after all the insults she hurled at him back in S3. And I'm laughing right now thinking of the possibility of a Cordelia/Xander/Anya reunion!

I haven't seen Cordy die yet but I'm almost done w/ S4 so I know it's coming (I read who's-going-to-die spoilers on purpose so I can prepare myself). I figure they didn't have Angel tell Buffy in S7 because they couldn't have dealt with it properly in so short a time. There was so much going on, and they couldn't have given Cordy a proper mourning period. Also no one on Buffy had seen her for a long time-was the last time when Willow came to tell them Buffy died? it was probably just easier not to try to figure out a way to pull that off that would be realistic and not minimize her dying.

Well, actually Willow does see her in about midway season 4 of Angel. Remember when she picks up Faith?

Then again, that's not technically Cordelia, so...

Anyway, I also didn't like how Cordy was rarely mentioned. She was a big character on Buffy, but then when she left, BAM, no more Cordy. Angel crossed over a lot, but I thought it was actually sort of sad that Cordelia never returned. I guess she meant it when she said she'd never come back to Sunnydale after leaving. 🙁

I think that by the comics, they definately know, because Andrew at the very least has visited them, and of course as MinwaraYana mentioned, there are hints that Buffy might know.

I haven't gotten that far into season 4 yet. I just watched the one where she has sex with Connor (which feels icky and incestuous-I haven't been happy with the Cordy storyline since she got sucked into the sky to be a higher being).
