Cordy and the Rest of the Scoobies

so i'm not sure if this is the correct thready this should go in or if there is another post for it but here is the question that popped in my head the other day as i was watching season 3 of buffy. What do you think the other scoobies would have thought if they found out that cordy was a higher being? I think they all would have been like......what really? thoughts? comments?

I'm not sure.. Cordy is from Sunnydale afterall, Willow became a powerful witch, Buffy died alot, Xander..um..lost an eye, Harmony became a vampire, you know.

I don't think they'd be overly shocked. Maybe Buffy would be bitch about it alittle, and Xander would make some jokes. That'a all I see.

If I were them, I would have laughed. 😉
I don't think they would have believed it at first, Willow seemed to find it shocking & funny enough that she was actually working for Angel.
I think eventually they would have grown used to the idea and what not, but I think they would have been a little wigged out by the whole thing.

I think there would have been a definite air of disbelief amongst the Scoobies. Probably some comments made in the same vein as Willow's to Angel in Pangs. The Scoobies didn't know Cordy, not in Sunnydale and especially after she left. Anything they said would be based on their preception of her which was never the whole truth. The Scoobies own personal hang ups with Cordy would have played heavily on what they thought of her new exhalted position. Willow, depite having moved on with her life with Oz and later Tara, I think would have still held an ill placed grudge against Cordy for 'stealing' her first love from her (even though Willow stole him back) and the years of bullying she received from Cordy. Xander I think would make alot of meanish jokes but secretely would be both happy and proud of Cordy. Buffy, I think would kinda react the way Angel reacted when he found out Spike had a soul. Like Cordy was stealing her thunder somehow.

I think all their reactions would be irrational and heavily influenced by their high school years, in fact I think they would react as if they were back in high school, with more than a tinge of immaturity.

Remember when the Scoobies found out Harmony was a vampire with an entourage? I imagine that same reaction to Cordy.

I imagine the Scoobies would have reacted quite differently towards Cordy at that point in their lives. She'd grown a lot as a person, but they'd grown too. I actually could see them all being good friends with her by that point.

Haha, I can actually picture Buffy saying "I was in heaven" in a similar voice tone to when she's talking to Holden in CWDP and says "sire, the term's sire", when she does that little half smile, quite talk thing... It's a thing! Honest!

I think Season 7 Xander would get all Dawn-extra-ordinary-speechy on Cordy, saying how proud he is.

Giles would laugh for sure.

Willow would be cool about it I reckon.

It's a bit sad when you think about it - the nerd of the school, Jonathan, dies a thankless death whilst the popular girl, Cordy, gets to ascend to a higher place. There's something depressing about that.

I think it depends on the season. Cordelia became a higher being by the end of S3 AtS. All the Scoobies had matured at that point.

I disgree with you about Willow. She and Cordelia seemed to get on just fine after high school, being phone friends and calling to check in once in a while. So, I think Willow's reaction would be, "Go Cordy!"

Xander would probably make a few teasing quips, but nothing mean. I agree that he'd be proud of her, even though he'll try not to show it 😉

Buffy would be more upset with the fact that Cordelia and Angel seemed to be in love than her being a high being :lol:
