Is it just me or do others also think that Cordelia should have gotten some sort of recognition in BtVS season 7? I'm not saying there should have been a big part of 'Chosen' devoted to her character or anything like that, but maybe just some sort of mention or quick discussion.

She was a massive part of the show. Both Charisma and David appeared in 57 episodes of BtVS, yet Angel was mentioned quite a few times and even appeared in S7. Faith was brought back into the show for the final 5 eps, even though she played a relatively small role in comparison to Cordy.

I'm not saying that Cordelia should have returned, because due to the Angel s4 storyline and Charisma's pregnancy, it's unlikely that they could have written her character in for an appearance. But not even a mention! I'm a big fan of Cordelia, but in this case I don't think I'm being biased!
What do you guys think?

Btw, sorry if this has been discussed before, I scanned through the Season 7 forum and didn't see anything.

I think in four years the Scoobies had moved on from Cordelia considerably. Honestly, no one really liked her to begin with (Xander's hormones aside, and he had Anya anyway). Plus they were in the middle of the fight of their lives and I am sure Cordy was the last thing on their minds. It would have seemed out of place to me to discuss some long lost "friend" amidst all the other chaos.

Exactly.

But she was nice to everyone in the end, especially Willow. Plus, her and Willow kept up with each other through Season 4...

I understand they were in the big fight but i'm with the OP on this one. The thing that really irritates me is there was no mention of her death. They heard about Buffy's death why could they not at least get that?

Angel could of said something to Buffy in 'Chosen' I guess. It must of been hard to cram everything in to end a series. If the episode was longer, it would of good to of seen Angel with all the scoobys and potentials and could of given everyone a talk, 'I just had a rough summer, and I know you guys have too but this is where it end's. You will fight and come out alive and kicking. This is your fight, make it count. Save the world like you have never done before. I lost someone very close to me, someone close to a few people in this room. Cordelia Chase fought a good fight, and I wouldn't be the man I am today if it wasn't for her. She was chosen to tell me of evil, you have been chosen to elimate the evil. Now go and slay, and save the world ... again'

Aaaaaaw, cangel karma! I wish he had said that instead of making out with Buffy that bastard :D
I don't know if this is true or not but I remember someone saying that Angel was going to tell Buffy about Cangel in the original script, but it got cut. I'm not particularly fussed about it though, there's only so much you can pack into a finale.

A mention would have been nice especially by Willow after she got back from LA. But I'm happy with how the ending played out. Even if she was a regular, Cordelia wasn't exactly a huge character on Buffy. By season 3, Oz was already more important to the show than she was.

I think Willow or Faith should have mentioned it. I know in "Chosen", in the original script, Angel spoke about her. I think it was cut for time though. Cordy was their friend, however unwilling both parties were in admitting that friendship form time to time. She helped them save the world, she was Xander's ex-girlfriend, his first girlfriend. I know if it was my former bestie, regardless how far our lives had drifted, I would want to know.

Ew. Although I think a mention of her death would've been fitting, I don't like the idea of him mentioning Cangel. Don't see what the point of that would be- to distract her from her mission?

More than likely to hit her with a curve ball of his very own à¡ la her "Spike is in my heart".

I agree though, it would have been inappropriate and belittling to Cordy to bring that into that conversation. I'm happy they left it out.

Oh, I love that part! :D

I must point out that Angel is the one that brought it up, though, the one that asked her if she loved him [Spike]. I don't think we can assume how much Angel knew about Buffy & Spike's relationship at that time.

I love Cordelia, but in AtS only. She was far too much of a 2D character during her time in Buffy. A mention would have been nice I guess, but honestly I do not care that she wasn't.

I totally agree. She was one of the original charecters on the show and one of the original scoobies, she shouldve had some sort of mention or appearance. It really irrates me that she is the only original charecter dead on either side.

I was so pissed at Angel for the Bangel finale kiss. Not that I disliked Bangel in the early seasons, but I wanted him to man up when Buffy tried to kiss him and say something like, "I'm with someone else now." "Who?" Dramatic pause. "Cordelia." I mean i know she was comatose at the time, but she wasn't dead yet... Idk, i guess i see why they did what they did, but at least a mention would have been nice.

yeah! Buffy would have been like "....." lol. I mean, I like buffy and all, but it's true, he was with Cordy and she was with Spike!

Huh? They weren't together at the time, and their relationship never really had a chance to get off the ground due to all the stupid Jasmine-related circumstances.

Here It Is I Found It On Tv.com

In the original script the conversation between Buffy and Angel was supposed to be longer making Angel reveal to Buffy that he loved Cordy and also that he had a son making Buffy the only one that knew of Connor. This was ultimately changed so not to confuse too much of Angel's storyline with Buffy's

Thanks for the source. :smile3:

As i've said before it would have been nice to have seen Buffy's reaction to finding out about Connor and Cangel, its definately one of those things that i'm disappointed didn't happen.

I agree w/t the op, she was a big part through Buffy and Angel, but yes when the first was apearing in the form of the dead cordy should of been one. i know she played a bigger part in Angel, but a mention wouldn't of hurt.

That definitely would've been interesting to have the 1st appear as Cordy. Of course it couldn't happen until after she actually died. Cordy appearing to Xander would've been cool!

That would have been pretty neat, though.
