Cordy in Season 7

Cordelia was cool, but completely different in Angel and Buffy. She wasn't the hugest of characters, and she made her exit very smoothly. I think, honestly, bringing her back into the equation would have been a bit tasteless.

I agree w/t the op, she was a big part through Buffy and Angel, but yes when the first was apearing in the form of the dead cordy should of been one. i know she played a bigger part in Angel, but a mention wouldn't of hurt.[/QU

I was so pissed at Angel for the Bangel finale kiss. Not that I disliked Bangel in the early seasons, but I wanted him to man up when Buffy tried to kiss him and say something like, "I'm with someone else now." "Who?" Dramatic pause. "Cordelia." I mean i know she was comatose at the time, but she wasn't dead yet... Idk, i guess i see why they did what they did, but at least a mention would have been nice.
That's exactly what should have happened! Props! 🙂

sorry for my post above i was on my cell trying to quote something someone said i agreed with and it didn't work and now it won't let me delete.

anyway I was trying to say I agree they should of had Cordy atleast apear as the first or something. She played a big part in the beginning, and was an original scoobie. It'd been nice to hear about her twords the end.

She kinda had her own stuff going on with the whole being a higher being, getting pregnant with an evil higher power, and being in a coma... her being in season 7 for a bit kinda wouldn't have worked.

I don't think so either, also I don't think you could have paid Cordy to go back to Sunnydale. I think she was glad to be out of that town (even if she did just find herself more monsters and mayhem) and to me she had definitely outgrown her place both in Sunnydale and in the Scooby gang. Bringing her back would have been superfluous and just eaten up a lot of screen time (to explain to her what had been going down during her absence)

i still think it was way outta character for angel who loved and had feels for cordy. just to foget her and be all over buffy when she laid comtose. just cuz they were never given the chance doesn't mean he didn't have feelings still. i just think that all that happen in angel that he would be all over buffy like that so soon. when he had moved on from her.

Yeah, okay. She was one of the original characters on the show. It would have been great to see her back but I'm sure she would never have felt any sort of pull towards them. Angel, yes. Because Angel was and always will love Buffy even if it's not in the way he used to. It's the same both ways really, they will always have a place in their hearts for one another. And Faith, well...she's a Slayer. Of course she was going to be back but although Cordy was an original character and a big part of it at the begining. It was odne, it was over. None of them were friends anymore and neither side would have felt a pull to see one another again. I wish we had seen her though, and I wish Angel had spoken up about it before the kiss and all that but...you know.

Is it just me or do others also think that Cordelia should have gotten some sort of recognition in BtVS season 7? I'm not saying there should have been a big part of 'Chosen' devoted to her character or anything like that, but maybe just some sort of mention or quick discussion.

She was a massive part of the show. Both Charisma and David appeared in 57 episodes of BtVS, yet Angel was mentioned quite a few times and even appeared in S7. Faith was brought back into the show for the final 5 eps, even though she played a relatively small role in comparison to Cordy.

I'm not saying that Cordelia should have returned, because due to the Angel s4 storyline and Charisma's pregnancy, it's unlikely that they could have written her character in for an appearance. But not even a mention! I'm a big fan of Cordelia, but in this case I don't think I'm being biased!
What do you guys think?

Btw, sorry if this has been discussed before, I scanned through the Season 7 forum and didn't see anything.
I have a problem with the statement in bold, first I will say this:

I love Cordelia and would've loved to have her have some sort of recognition in the final few episodes (could've even have Faith make a comment about her, how she'd went insane or something.)

Now, back to what I wanted to say. Faith came back because Faith is a slayer. Faith is also one of the most important slayers from the series, she shaped most of the season 3 arc and is arguably one of the most important characters to the transition Buffy's character made, of course, Cordelia played a role in Buffy's transition and other character's transitions aswell, but Faith played a larger role overall. Not to mention that Faith is one of the characters with the biggest followings on the show...Just sayin.'

Couldn't have said it better
The First couldn't have appeared as Cordelia because she wasn't gone until Angel s5... And it could only appear as a person that was dead.

Although...in the cases of both Buffy and Warren, the character was clinically dead, but still revivable, and the First was able to impersonate those characters. (Naturally, though, this is a retcon in the case of Warren-- surely at the time of writing, the writers thought of Warren as killed off for real. And in Buffy's case, would the "death" in Prophecy Girl have been enough, as it was enough to call a new Slayer? Or would it take a more permanent death as in The Gift?) Such could easily have been the case with Cordelia and her coma; perhaps she died, and Jasmine kept her in a comatose state that was really more of a living death, like undead creatures.

Indeed, You're Welcome and the rest of Season Five could remain essentially the same if Cordelia were dead and Angel & crew knew it; after all, Cordelia was dead in You're Welcome, and she (and the writers) could have let it be known from the beginning. Similarly with the episodes from Sacrifice on: The writers could have had Cordy die in The Magic Bullet, claim that it happens in a way that doesn't damage Jasmine, and the rest of the events would happen in much the same way

The writers still think Warren was killed off for real. I do believe Joss acknowledged that as a plot hole.
I never got the impression that she was dead until the end of the episode. I thought perhaps it was an apparition by the powers that be, or some kind of astral projection. Maybe I need to rewatch the episode, but that was always what I assumed.

Yeah, she didn't die until the end of the episode. I think the PTB just manifested her spirit so she could "wake up" long enough to do what she needed.

A mention of Cordy would have been nice but I don't know how necessary is was. Cordy clearly moved on from Sunndydale and the people still in it, with the exception of Willow (correct me if I am wrong). I do think Buffy, Willow, Xander and Giles would have been interested in knowing about Cordy and her situation.
