Cordy would have watched that "one time" between Angel and Spike?

I was thinking, when Cordy was a higher power and watched over everything Angel/Angelus did, wouldn't that mean she not only knew about that "one time" Angelus and Spike were intimate, but watched it? You'd think she'd have something to say about it to Angel...would have been funny 😛

ANGEL: I can't believe you slept with my son!

Cordy: Better than sleeping with Spike....

Angel: :O

Everyone else: O__________O

Wait... Either I'm completely oblivious to the show or I'm completely oblivious to what you're trying to say... But I don;t recall Spike and Angel sleepin together... ever?

It was strongly hinted at in AtS S5. In Power Play, Spike says, "Angel and me have never been intimate... except for that one time." (Or something along those lines.) There was another throwaway line about that in S8. And Joss practically confirmed it.

Oh, yeah I remember that line from AtS, haha

Eh, why would she had to ask about anything that Angelus did of Angel? I mean... if you go into imagining vampire sexual games you need only to go as far as Dru's siring... or Angelus' and Drusilla/Darla other escapades. How is having that one experiment with Spike any different from all Angelus's other encounters with Dru and/or Darla? Only in a sense that it was with a male vampire - so what ? How is Spike any better or worse ? And why would Cordelia has to ask about it ? I was always pretty much sure the Fanged Four used to have all sorts of 'combinations' between the four of them - they were soulless, gorgeous and vicious.

Having been with somebody's souled son , on other hand, is an entirely different story. With soulless vamps neither party has any post-experience trauma ( in a sense that it is not also fun - 'you like pain'), or attachment that is not another domination game. With Connor not!Cordelia pretty much defined him as a man for all his adult life.

It's different because Angel had never shown signs of being interested in another guy before, let alone someone he seemed to despise in nearly every scene they were in before (and many episodes during) season 5.

And it is Cordelia Chase, she always has something witty to say.

Angel also showed no interest in rekindling his relationship with Drusilla, and his one night stand with Darla was in a sense a suicide attempt that went wrong The guy who experimented with Spike was Angelus, not Angel, and they never tried it again because likely both decided one time was enough. It is like no straight guy in his formative years never horseplays with other guys 'just because'. I suspect that most of them do - and move on realizing that it was nothing they enjoyed that much. IMHO, the whole fuss about one-time Spike -Angelus affair was generated by somewhat inhibited parts of the fandom who could not just take it with a grain of salt and a chuckle - and by Joss who loves to climb on yet another soapbox and resonate. Heck, entire Spartan society was based around the concept of boys trying out homosexual experience for a while before moving on with their heterosexual life. It was nothing special. It is still much less special nowadays when talking about girls trying it for fun. When it is men it is so much bigger deal - why?

Well, yeah, Cordy was the one who put foot into her mouth with that 'big fat lesbo' remark to Willow, so I suppose yup - she could have said something equally outrageous. 🙂

I read a report by a Buffy fan who had a background in psychiatry once, a couple of years before Spike made that statement in Season 5, theorizing that Angelus almost certainly raped Spike at some point, much the way that the alpha male in a wolf pack would do, and for the same reason: to establish and reenforce his dominance over all potential challengers. That makes more sense to me, given what we saw of Angelus' character in the various flashbacks, than sex in any sort of romantic connotation. Look back at Spike and Angelus' first meeting, and it's pretty clear that Angelus immediately started showing Spike how much stronger he was, and how much more pain he could endure than the smaller man. Using him sexually would fit right in with that sort of thing.

Just a theory, mind you, but a fairly logical one.

white avenger, that makes sense. I always figured that Buffyverse vampires were bi/omni-sexual. Sexuality seems to go along with the vampirism.

Anyway, when Cordy said that she could see everything, remember that she wasn't really Cordy. So we really don't even know for sure that it was true. I don't trust a single word out of Jasmine's or JasmineinCordy's mouth(s)?
