I have a question. Does anyone here think it would have been better if Charisma had left the show after Cordelia ascended to the higher plane? I mean don't get me wrong, Cordy is my favorite character but I feel like the only thing that season 4 did was ruin her. It didn't do anything for her character and is wasn't even Cordy thruought the whole season. The writers could've just had her go up to the higher plane and then come back one more time for an episode similar to You're Welcome. But instead oh having her die they could've just had her go back up to misty magic land so that there could be a possibilty of her recurring. What do you guys think?

I partly agree but still even thoughly it wasnt cordy in series 4 I still love that season but i do think it would have been better if she didnt dies/go into a coma and went to a higher plane again so then we could imagine her up there frollicking with other higher beings. However she may actually be a higher being post death, she could have made one by the PTB, you never know!!!

I agree completely. I love season 4 alot, but Cordy's character was ruined because of it for me. Cordelia grew so much, and then to have Jasmine control her was disappointing for me.

cordy becoming evil during S4 detracted from the character i had grown to love, so i agree that maybe it would have been better if cordy had stayed as a higher power. and i like your idea about her coming back for a few more eps, but keeping the character alive, that would have staisfied me a lot more than cordy's death.
however, as we now know, cordy's 'ascension' to her higer power status was all just a ploy to enable jasmin to come to this dimension.
so if cordy had stayed 'up there', then S4 would have been very different, in more ways than one.

AMEN... Vison Guy Cordy is one of my two fav charcters and after watching S4 I wished she hadn't come back from the higher plane... CC did such a good job being evil that you almost hated her...

Yes I agree, Charisma's character should've left after season 3 because I felt like there wasn't any reason valid enough for Cordelia to have come back after going 'up there' and I loved Cordy up until this point because Cordy just wasn't...well Cordy, so I do agree Cordy should've stayed up there with the powers that be or something.

I completely agree with everyone. The character of Cordelia in season four was a waste of a character. We all came to despise Cordlelia. This change showed a deformation of a well-loved character, and a lack of acting ability in Charisma Carpenter. The character was very forced, and I believe it was hard for CC to play the character of Cordelia in the way she used to. She couldn't handle the weird 'evil and pregnant' vibe coming off the character, and as a result, the character and actress ability were affected.

They could've just had somebody else be the vessel for Jasmine. We could've also still had "You're Welcome" just the way it was, with Cordelia returning to get Angel back on track.

Yeah but that would have been giving us what we want!

Don't get me wrong, I agree that S4 really did ruin the Cordy character for me. 🙁 But everything was redeemed in Your Welcome...what a great send-off for a great character.

And having her die..made so much more of an impact for me..especially after years in a coma..rather than having her safe and happy on a higher plane if you know what I mean!

i agree with jenny.
S4 cordy was so very wrong, and i hated that they did that to a character that i had grown to love as much as cordy. but 'you're welcome' is one of my all time fave eps. if cordy had stayed where she was, like i myself have suggested would have been best, then 'you're welcome' may never have happened. and i can't imagine S5 without that ep!!

Ahhh...everything happens for a reason!
Season 4 Cordelia completely ruined the character for me. She had some good moments though.... "You wanna go, Glinda? We'll go." "Of course not. 'Cause you're Super Tramp." But other than that....it wasn't Cordy. It was an evil eating-people....thing.

I was really happy when she came back for You're Welcome. I loooooooved that Episode. "Where's Connor?" "Who?" "What do you mean who? Connor!" I cried so much at the end....all the original characters (besides Angel, of course) were DEAD! Doyle, Cordelia. Then at the end, Wes. Argh.

I agree, Vision Boy. She should have stayed up there. She was safer.

I knew I couldn't be the only one who thought that way.I actually kinda liked evil Cordy but i liked her better when she was good.So she should have stayed as a higher being.

You're all right...S4 wasn't good for her...but we also gotta see that the writers planned something else for Cordy at first, but then they had to rewrite it in a short time, cuz CC got pregnant. Maybe the writers didn't have much time to think about another good idea. So we just got a pretty bad solution

Personally, I thought Cordelia's ascention was a bad story to begin with. Just like the whole becoming demon to stand the visions. Bad story-line there... Actually, Queen C in Pylea wasn't very believable either... No, Cordy's character definitely declined rapidally at the end of Season 2.

I don't think Cordy's character declined at the end of season 2.I really liked Cordy in season 3 and I thought that she became a more intresting character.I also don't think that she became "Saint Cordelia" as some people call it.I think of it as her growing into an extraordinary woman. We can't expect her to stay all bitca-y for ever.People grow and mature and that is exactly what happened to her. This excludes everything that happened in season 4 because that wasn't really Cordy.

Well, in growing less bitchy, she actually became more bitchy.

She used to be a real bitch, but have a heart of gold... well maybe silver or bronze... but then she becomes Saint Cordelia, and she seemingly works for the good guys, but she appears her silver or bronze heart has been replaced by a lump of ice.

WHAT?!?! Have you even seen the series. How can you make these comments, everything she did,she thought she was doing for a greater good.
I don't know i really think the writers ruined her character, her being evil just didn't do it for me she was just plain irritating!

But her manipulation of conner now that was freaky! Just seeing her smarmy grin and wer'e special! yuk!

No it just wasn't the same having her evil, and the assention seemed a bit suspect at the end of season three(Which it turned out it was). What was she thinking agreeing to be a higher being and not saying goodbye to Angel, wasn't the job of being his connection to the ptb's important?

I think her ascention being a complete delusion was highly disappointing. Of course, I never really bought that Skip was a messenger or that sort, so I did think that there was some error in ascention to higher plane thing, I even thought that that was it; that Cordy had died, or her story line is over (which is alike to me], and when she returned I said: "please". To me Cordelia died after the ascention. Season 4 and 5 Cordelia is just an entity that has her memories.

I think Cordy becoming a higher being and everything that folowed was the stupidest thing Joss has ever done. It was pointless! Why for once couldn't he just let one reltationship turn out?! Im not a big fan of Angel/Cordy, but come on, if you had to get rid of her couldn't you think of somthing better?!

Y'all aint even got to talk about Cordy like that!!!!! I read somewhere that she was originally going to fight Angel herself, but she popped a baby in her oven so thats how Jasmine came along.........................
