I'm very much for all the original ships! So that means Angel/Buffy, Xander/Cordy and Willow/Oz!! I always loved Cander together. In a perfect world Cordy would never have been infected by Jasmine, we would never have been subjected to the Oedipal madness that was Angel/Cordy/Connor and after Sunnydale fell the Scoobies would have went to L.A. where Xander and Cordy would have lived happily ever after....I know, I know...Denial thy name is Kean!

Hmm...I really can't pick. Except you know *not* Wesley coz Wesley totally belongs with Fred.

I liked the Cangel relationship because of how it developed. It went nicely, like it happened naturally and she helped him through so much and he in return *but* I don't think she belonged with him. I think it was more of a strong familial friendship sometimes touched by romance. Because as much as I do think Bangel should have ended when it did and I am Spuffy fan I can't deny that I just see Buffy and Angel as soul mates so...can't vote for Cangel.

Cander. I loved this couple. They worked so great together. Especially at the very beginning like in Bad Eggs where they insult each other in Health Ed and when making out she tells him its not that can't look at him it's just she doesn't want to. Hehehe. They were great together as a lusty couple that eventually became love.*but* I worship all that is Xanya. So no Cander here.

Wesley- no. no. no. He belongs with Fred! Fred! Fred!

Groo- Such a sweetie. Cordy's prince charming. But way to naive for this world and therefore, no matter how pure or good or sweet, too naive for Cordy.

Damn, who the hell should this girl be with? Maybe it should have been that guy in Prophecy Girl? The one that no matter what he did she couldn't get mad at him because she thought he was so sweet. Maybe the answer lay in him. Too bad he got killed by vampires....

What about Doyle? If she can't have Xander he is my next choice
I love Cordy and Angel. I thought they looked great together, interacted well together and they knew each other so well. She never put up with his crap and was not afraid to tell him what was what. they got my vote.

Cordy and xander was incredibly funny but they were not a well matched pair. Xander was too immature and she, i believe, loved him more than he loved her. Xander was still all torn with the Buffy infatuation and the Willow crush and didn't appreiciate that Cordelia considered him 'locker door material'. I loved how Cordy didn't get back together with Xander when she so easily could have. I was like her saying 'nobody treats cordelia chase badly. I deserve the best and i won't take second best!' more women should think that way.

Cordy and Groo - i just never got it. he was just irritating

Cordy and Wesley - so funny but never a serious contender because they were all hot and heavy with the attraction but when they kissed there was nothing.

Cordy and Doyle - had potential. She was really beginning to like him and she realised how much he admired her after he gave her the visions and died.

Keanoite- DOYLE! That was the one I was trying to think of but it just wasn't coming to mind! Yes, Doyle. I think Doyle was perfect. Damn, how could I forget him. Im going to blame it on the fact I've worked my butt off today and I'm tired and sleepy and therefore forgetful. So yeah, totally a Cordy/Doyle shipper. Meant to be ;-) hehe

We're brain sharing again.
I'm with the Doyle fans.

I think they had the potential to be really amazing together. Xander, well, that was teen lust. Connor was, too (zing!). Okay, he was Jasmine's doing. Angel, well, I wish for better for Cordy. I liked their relationship, but a relationship with Angel is always fraught with the will-he-lose-his-soul thing and the dominance issues and the hypocrisy and it just makes me tired and slightly depressed thinking about it. Besides, Angel belongs with Spike. 🙂 And Groo, well, I liked Groo a lot, but Cordy just liked the way he comshucked. Doyle had a past. And he was sort of offbeat. But he was funny and cute and I think he would have loved her as an equal - not as a subordinate (like Angel) or as a princess (like Groo) and certainly not as a mother figure (like Connor). I think she and Doyle could have had a real relationship -- one that worked on all levels. Which, of course, if why he had to die. Joss declares that no couple can be happy. Martyrdom trumps all!

cordy/doyle karma! :)
Oh def. Xander; I loved those two together: that's when Cordy was the most awesome character. They were hilarious. Her character was destroyed in Angel and as for that pairing never got into it. Angel loved Buffy and always would.

They were hilarious and fun. I really liked them. I guess I just wanted Cordy to have a shot at a normal adult relationship. I don't want her love life to have peaked in high school while dating the self-proclaimed "King of Cretans." Don't got me wrong; I love Xander. I'm just saying we all deserve better than our high school romance.

Don't knock young love so easyily, it may not always work but sometimes it does;)
Keanoite agrees: Don't knock young love so easyily, it may not always work but sometimes it does😉

Sure, it can work out sometimes. But it didn't work out for them. I wanted Cordy to have a relationship that had a chance of working out. Xander and Cordy were never going to work out. They were based on teenage hormones.

I really wasn't a Cordy fan.. ever. But I thought there were a few cute moments between her and Angel in there little thing and in her final episode. So I voted for Angel

I think Angel and Cordelia grew together the way most mature romances do. Both had had their adolescent flings (okay, a two centuries plus vampire could hardly be called adolescent, but, as has been pointed out before, Buffy was probably the first female that Angel had ever been attracted to, and since her attraction was adolescent puppy love, he responded in like manner, much like any middle aged man would respond if he had had no previous experience with romance), and while they loved to look back on it later and fantasize, deep down they both knew that it was exactly that: fantasy. That's what first love almost always is in the end.

Both Angel and Cordelia had to mature before they could realize their real feelings, the kind of feelings that grow into a lasting relationship, and if the show and Cordelia had lasted a couple of years longer, we would have seen the two together in a much more mature, and no doubt intimate (they would've gotten around that curse, I have no doubt whatsoever) manner, perhaps even to the point of a marriage-like partnership. That's what mature love is.

(And before someone asks, Angel went back to Sunnydale in an attempt to recapture something that was no longer there. If Cordelia was still alive at that point, the whole "cookie dough" thing would never have taken place.

In what way was the Buffy/Angel relationship in any way a fantasy? It was hard and painful and very real. If it wasn't real love they would have never have still loved each other after Angelus. Just because it was first love for the both of them doesn't make it any less real...no matter how much you want it to.

First of all Cordy WAS alive at that point , she was just sleeping! and secondly...sure that convo would never have happened if Cordy had been awake, just like it never happened because of how Buffy felt about spike...Oh wait!

You'll have to try harder than that WA!!!

Well, it was a tough choice, but after her last episode on Angel, I think she was best with Angel. I cried so much when Angel found out she was dead!

First of all, the fantasy was that two people can recapture the innocence of their youth after it is a thing of the past. Yes, they still loved each other after Angelus, and I have, believe it or not, no doubt whatsoever that they still loved each other at the end of Season 7 (exhale, Miss K, you're turning blue.) I also have no doubt that they both realized at that last moment that their time was past, hence Buffy's cookie dough speech and Angel's acceptance of her "someday" answer without much protest.

Secondly, you're right, Cordelia wasn't dead, but she was in a coma, not expected to ever recover. Angel had just lost his son and the woman he loved, plus had committed himself to revamping (no pun intended) one of the single most evil organizations on the planet with the help of only a handful of friends. He was at a point of insecurity, and he tried to recapture a less complicated moment and a less demanding relationship. His timing was just lousy. He wanted fresh baked cookies, and Buffy wasn't ready to deliver. Maybe someday she will be. Maybe he'll be the one to get them (exhale...inhale...exhale...come on now, breathe), and maybe not. Only joss and time will tell.

In the meantime, I still think that Angel is the best match for Cordelia. He's the one she loved above all her other men.

My breathing is starting to even off now...thanks!
Definitely Xander. I'm not big on Cordy 'ships myself, where I really don't care who she's with. But considering I'm a Bangel, I can't see Angel with anyone else (ok maybe some lustiness with Faith) relationship wise. Groo was..well, I was glad Groo was there to keep Cordy and Angel apart but I didn't like the jealousy that was tied in with it. Wesley was really never even an option for me.

But Xander and Cordy were very cute together. Typical highschool cheerleader/outcast type of relationship and it worked really well.

well since i am a cangel fan i obviuosly voted for angel other than angel i would only want her with doyle, spike or buffy

I completely agree with everything you said. Doyle loved Cordelia and believed in her before she had proven herself as a warrier and his sacrifice and gift really helped her grow as a person. I don't hate Cangel like some people, I just feel like to make that work they had to change Cordelia's core character and make her too mature and unselfish almost like a saint (if that makes sense). The Doyle/Cordelia relationship captures what I love most about her character.... a sensitive, brave, outspoken, strong woman with a strong sense of self preservation and a love for shoes.

Xander/Cordelia was adorable! So I chose Xander.
