Cordy's fighting skills

Okay I was wondering since season 3 where Cordy would be placed fighting wise I know she hasn't fought in many episodes but from would you've seen where'd you place her on the Buffy-verse fighting scale.


Top tier-
Angel
Buffy
Spike
Faith

Mid tier-
Wesley
Gunn

Low tier-
Willow
Fred
Xander

*This is no specifc order just something you know to grade her by.
 
I would place Willow in the top tier, just saying.

Cordelia wouldn't even qualify for this.
 
Bottom tier of course. The only fighting i remember Cordy doing was chopping that demons head off in Pylea. I'd even place Fred above her as i can remember her in some fights using crossbows and stuff.

^i'd put Willow in the top tier because of her magic, but i thought this was about physical fighting/weapon skills.
 
Low tier - although she has definitely shown improvement over the course of the show, no comparision to the 'real' fighters on the show. Your top guys all have superpowers (that's why I agree Willow should definitely go there), and the middle ones are all 'trained' - Wesley (and Giles for that matter) by the Watcher's Councul, Gunn by his though street life. A few hours of basement training doesn't place you there just like that. For example, just look at how easily Darla could bite Cordy in s3. Any of the better fighters would've seen that coming.

This whole lack of fighting skills has never been a problem, especially not on Angel, imo. Cordy just had a different kind of power, the visions. Just like, say Anya, who in the end was only human and couldn't really fight to save her life, but had all that usefull demon knowledge.
 
If you're talking about stand up, toe to toe, hand to hand fighting, no magic involved, Cordy could take Willow, no problem. She could probably hold her own against Xander. Fred would have her for lunch and then go looking for dessert. As Santa Anna learned way back in 1836, you just don't go messin' with them Texans unless you want your a** handed to you on a platter.
 
I know Cordy wasn't the best fighter but I remember her showing some HtH combative skills in You're Welcome, Slouching towards Bethlehem, and The price well I mean at least she knows how to use a sword.: king :

Not sure Slouching counts though... as no one can say
how much of that was Cordy and how much was Jasmine

She was getting trained by Angel, and she could hold her own towards the end, but even then I'd put her in the lowest teir, if we're talking a 3 teired rating. All the same I think she could fight better than someone like Fred or Lorne, but she cant compare to 2nd teir people like Gunn.

And as far as Willow goes, Id put her on the bottem as well. When you say fighting skills, I dont think that includes magics IMO.

Where would you put Lindsey? He was pretty kickass in the last season

Lindsey is at the top and he beat everyone in Your Welcome and didn't die and is now the star of "Lindsey: After the Fall"...didn't anyone tell you?


Ok, ok, I'd put him on a par with Gunn and S5 Wesley. But I agree with you on Cordelia, she wasn't up at that level, but she was by far the strongest of the people who never received formal training.

No way jose, I really dont think Willow should be top teir, because this is about fighting ability, not overall powerfulness etc.

I'm sorry, but when Willow and Oz are in Witch and Werewolf mode, they're still fighting, so I would place them on top.

There is NO way that Gunn is on the same level as the vamps or the slayers!

And what shows were you watching when it comes to Wesley and Xander being equal?!?! Xander was completely useless in battle!

I think I would have Cordelia above Fred and Xander. I thought Cordelia was actually a really good fighter after Angel started teaching her.

Xander remembered all of those military positions, etc. from the "Halloween" epiosde, so I would definitely place him with Wesley. And although Cordelia may have gotten better thanks to Angel, she had no time to show it, so we can't be certain.

Also, I barely remember Gunn getting hurt in all his years of fighting. He has the same amount of integrity that Buffy, Angel, Spike, Willow, and Faith have.

By your ongoing powerful witch Willow = awesome fighter opinions, shouldn't Cordelia be top teir since she was pretty much a goddess at one point?

But did she every fight while she was a Goddess? No, because she couldn't leave that astral plane.
 
There she was able to wage the war on evil in a new way as a higher being in paradise with The Powers That Be, as seen in the episode "Tomorrow."

So really, I think she was probably one of the most powerful characters.
But I still think she belongs bottem teir, with Willow, because we're talking fighting ability.
I'm just sayin.
