This song always makes me want to ball my eyes out. It is my favorite song from OMwF even though it's not even in it. I don't know why but everytime I hear this song it brings me back to when Buffy was still on, it like sums up the show for me I just love it.

Anya is my favorite character and this song is just so heartbreaking how excited she was to be Mrs. Anya Christina Emmanuela Jenkins Harris and never could be.

Poor Anya.

Yeah, what's the story on "I'll be Mrs", anyway? Was it originally made for OMwF, cut, then added to Selfless? I notice they call it "Anya's Lost Song" sometimes.
 
It's really sad, especially since it's in Selfless, and you know the outcome of Xander and Anya's relationship.. Poor Anya.

It was made for Selfless. If you watch the commentary, Drew Goddard and David Solomon say that they wanted to have a flash back to a moment in the Xanya relationship that the viewers would know where it was from, but something not seen on camera. Originally they were going to do a Hush thing but they thought it would be hard to talk about their relationship with no talking. They asked Joss about doing a flashback to the musical with a new unseen song, he said no and that he was too busy, but the next day he came in with a song and voila! Emma was back in the recording studio!
 
Plus, you can tell it wasn't filmed when OMWF was because Emma Caulfield is clearly wearing a blonde wig...

It's a beautiful song...so sad.

I love this song so much. Always makes me teary, poor Anya.🙁 And that harsh cut to her with the sword in her chest just as she's singing that high note - brilliant.
 
I love this song. You are so right up top there 😉 When I hear this song I think about how Xander is huge jerk and how he never should have done that to poor Anya. Totally not okay. Oh I love her 🙂
 
Without fail, I cry during this song. It is the reason I love the episode Selfless so much.
 
I listened to this song so many times last night thanks to n4h's link! I really love it. You can tell that Joss has had more experience writing music and songs; it's definately up there with the very best of OMWF. Plus, I really loved the way it just came out of nowhere. Selfless was already a fantastic episode, and this song made it one of my absolute favourites.
 
Uh it's a nice song. And it's so awesome they wrote another one outside the musical. I mean, come on, a show where that happens simply has to rule 😀

It was sad somehow. Especially with the created contrast....first we have Anya in her wedding dress, singing, then, next shot, her, pinned to the wall by an enormous sword. But that's part of what makes it so amazing.
And all this song. Anya was always sort of 'lost'. She didn't have her old life anymore, she was newly human, didn't fit in. And in that time she really got attached to Xander. He became the main part of who she was. And that's what the song is about. But, at the same time, this had already ended. Her and Xander were over. There was still mutual love between them, but at that time there was also rage and anger, she was a Vengeance demon, so suddenly not even standing on the same side anymore. The moment Xander 'dumped' her she went back to what she knew before she became human again, something she herself didn't even like. And it doesn't really end well either. Well she gets stabbed.
So we have her 'new life' ending in disaster, and then the flashback to how happy she was with Xander, singing her soul out about how she'll be 'his misses'.

And I hope I brought my point across, because I had awesome ideas but then I began typing and totally lost where I was going. Stupid me.
 
I can honestly say that I want to cry at the song. I don't, but I want to. To me it's so beautiful, and sad. Because you know what's gonna happen, and how it's gonna end. It just makes me....sad.
But I love it. One of my favorites, it not THE favorite
 
but to me it was her suicide ep, she was about to let buffy beat her and its all tainted with sadness and my tears

(tho being Btvs, its still funny)
