To be honest I'm very rarely onboard the whole "Please vote for me/my..." but here I just had to. Besides, it wasn't asking/begging for votes as such.

Not even the allure of boobs would make me vote against your girlfriend's fantastic Illyria costume. 😱

I'm glad it didn't come across that way. As much as I'd like to see my girlfriend win, I'm just as eager to share her accomplishments with other Buffy/Angel fans. 🙂 We are few and far between where we live so it nice to be part of such a cool community here!

I'm with Wash... I usually find myself annoyed when people post begging people to vote for this, that, or the other but I couldn't pass up voting; her costume is amazing!
 
Thank you all for your support! And I hope I didn't cross too many lines. I know how annoying it is when people billboard on the other forums I hang out in, but I just wanted to share her pictures with like-minded fans. I'm also hoping to befriend other cosplayers! I love sharing fan art and photos with other people. 🙂 I'm still learning the ropes around here, but if anyone would like to share their fan art or pics, feel free to hit me up! Thanks for being so welcoming as well. It's been great so far! 🙂
 
That costume blows my mind! Wow, it just looks amazing. I hope she wins 😀 Well deserved in that case.
 
I used to be one of the people being annoyed at other people asking them to vote for stuff. But then came a competition I could enter and really wanted to win and all of a sudden, my opinion changed. Weird huh? 😀
 
As others have said, I'm not usually a fan of comp advertising on here, but this is so so very very brilliant that I would have wanted you to share the pics even if it wasn't a comp! I'm jealous that it's not my costume! Anyway, she definitely got my vote!

Yep! We're both from Canada but we speak French as a second language. My last name is Gaudet, which is also French. We're from a city called Sudbury, in Ontario (about a 4 hour drive north of Toronto). Actually, to be honest, my French sucks pretty badly. lol.

And thank you soooo much for supporting Silvie. She put months of research into it. She actually tracked down and got in touch with Shawna Trpcic (the original designer of the costume) and got her insight as well. As for the makeup, I had a blast experimenting with different techniques. I finally ended up airbrushing three different shades of blue then hand painting the veins and texture afterward. It was bitter/sweet for her to make the costume, because she (we) loved Fred so much and resented Illyria for occupying her body, but Illyria is such a cool character that she felt the need to take on the challenge. 🙂

This is the best picture I have of the bottom of the legs. (One of the trickiest parts for Silvie to make. I had to hand-draw the hounds tooth pattern on because we couldn't find the proper fabric anywhere!)
