I love kale!

I spent a bit much the other day. Got a new lead for the dogs. Its actually a horse lunge rope. Its cheaper than getting a dog one of the same length. But still a bit of a splurge as I do already have one, its just not as soft, long and pink like the new one 😆 The stockfeed had way underpriced its kong toys too so the dogs got two 😀

Also got some bulk rabbit litter, so thats set for the next few months. Gone up from $60 to $73. I'll have to go back for hay in a month. I have no where to store bulk hay so its still $18 a bale. The mice are everywhere at the moment. Harvest ran so late this year!

Next power bill will have no credit on it but since I have been getting groceries delivered, I can push the car service out a few months.
 
Done my tesco order for the 6th, currently at £47 for the month but I'll probably remove a few bits before it's finalised. Need to go through the freezer and check what's in there,also the cupboard, I didn't add anything for that as I know it's pretty well stocked.

Its so suss that we had an egg "shortage" here too, because we didnt have a bird flu run through the population. We didnt have anything that would make a lack of eggs besides a "lack of workers" which is absolute BULLSHIT. Like when the general store shut down and blamed it on a lack of workers - they never advertised for workers or accepted our walk in resumes cos they didnt want to pay legal wages. They shut down because the borders shut and they couldn't bring in anymore indian boys to work for nothing. Now the borders are open and the international students are going for the cafe jobs that at least pay minimum wage. I wonder what the new owners are going to do with it, the general store. They took the kangaroos pulling santas sled off the roof for the first time in 3 years, so thats a start. Its still closed tho.


I am wondering too if the gov will start cheaper nurse training since there is such a "shortage" of them too. I would like to be a hospice night nurse, but I dont think third time is a charm when it comes to uni.
 
It's bad enough that I'm paying a lot more for even simple stuff...infuriating when I realized the absurd amount of shrinkflation. In just a few months, everything from food to paper towels, were noticeably less than before, and I have older stuff to compare it to to be sure. Though there's a lot more going on. Not that it will become a big deal on the news like the stupid and often pointless stuff.
 
I got 10% off my shop the other day with the rewards card and today an invite to be on their customers feedback panel. I have done stuff like that before they usually give you a bag of goodies and/or a gift card for participating. The distance probably isnt worth it for me to do that anymore and its a pain in the butt to try and report as income on welfare. But for working people it could be a good way to get free stuff if you have the time.

I dont have a whole lot left to bulk up on my deliveries, so I am justifying spending more on this fancy pre prepped meat. Its a real delight to know what meal I will have each day, this easily, with individual packaging! Makes life easy. I like easy life.
 
The cat loves the heated airer, it's his favourite place to lie when it's switched on! I only have it on when I'm at home as don't trust him on it, but it's taken a day off drying the clothes and I don't put the heater on to dry them now, so it's been worth it for me.
 
Yogurt was too expensive so I got ice cream coming today 😁
I really gotta go to the community relief shop. I keep forgetting but they only take cash I dont have in on me these days.

I was trying to crochet a cap but a certain naughty puppy keeps destroying my yarn! (Harmony does not like my fashion sense). My walking pants have holes in them now and are worn through. I just hate clothes shopping so much! I see lots of cool Instagram clothes mending videos with crochet but really the yarn is gona cost more than new pants are and the time it takes would mean the clothes are worth hundreds yet still look hobo.
 
Due to insane price hikes, there will be no Easter egg hunts this year. Potatoes will be used instead. .

The town water supply was running real low and so water pressure was low. They trucked in some water and the new pressure blew out a bunch of my retic. Gona try fix it with duct tape. Drinking water is brown again but they say its safe to drink.
 
I think Tesco meal deals may be cheaper and healthier than Sainsbury's so I will have to check them out.
 
Went to the community relief shop. Grand total of $4! I had $4 in change so wooo for that 😀
Got a bag of clothes for $2, although only one pair of pants in that and 3 cushions which are for the dogs at $2 for the 3. Freebie pile had two dog bowls and a little house frame that the bunnies would like once i sand it back and make a cover. One of my neighbours was working, she lost her mum to dementia last year and I wasnt sure if she was going to stick around town, so it was nice to see her busy 🙂 the shop was busy too, I forgot it was still holidays. I shall go back sooner than later once I get more cash out of the bank. Need more pants!

Even cheaper is making your own, do you have a water bottle, don't have to just have water in it. Sandwiches are easy, but you can have wraps or rolls with the same ingredients to mix it up a bit. Or have cous cous, quinoa or pasta for something different. Treats are easy depending on if you prefer savoury or sweet and if you want to bake. I usually try to bake once a month and slice and freeze it. I'm going to do flapjack next month. Going to try fudge in the slow cooker as well as apparently that's easy to do.
Remember to use the store cards as well, nectar in sainsbury and the clubcard in tesco.

Those who use airfryers, if you need to put something in a container to put in the airfryer what do you use. I'm trying to figure out if my ceramic oven dish will be ok in the airfryer

According to Philips. "You can use any ovenproof dish or mold in the Airfryer, whether it is made of glass, ceramic, metal or silicone. You can also use silicone or paper cupcake cups or molds to bake cupcakes, muffins or small gratins." The same seems true of other brands.

I took my airfryer out of the box; decided it wasn't too complicated and then decided I needed a Duo so swapped it. The Duo (still unboxed) is now sitting in the same corner as the original. Nothing's changed - except I'm another £50 out of pocket.

Payday aka pay all the things day!

Also car mot day, so savings are put on hold until I know that cost. Since I can't drive at the moment my dad booked it in, wish he had waited just a few more days, just so not everything was going out on the 1st, car insurance is January so I don't want to move it forward next year.

My main food shop for the month is booked for delivery on Monday as that's my next day off, so I can cook and plan that day. I'll go to aldi later today, for the stuff that's cheaper there and any urgent things.

I think I'll do a simple refrigerator treat today for work, cheap chocolate and biscuits from aldi, add some raisins that I already have, melt, mix, pour into the shallow cake pan, into the refrigerator and slice it up in the morning. Work treats done!
 
Yay, car is fine a few advisories that I can do throughout the year, once I've saved up, new tyre being the main one.

Treated myself to a massage, not something I would usually do, but my neck is really stiff and tense from wearing the sling so I'm going to hopefully sort that out with a massage on Monday.

Bought the ingredients to make smoothies today, probably won't do that often, made 2 smoothies and used up a lot of the stuff I bought, so it'll be once a week at most or my food bill will get too high.

And now it's no more spending for the month, obviously still bills to pay, but that's it. Apart from my brother's birthday but he's just getting a £10 gift card!
