Cost of living #3

So theoretically if the landlord did not oblige themselves to negotiate they could have raised the rent 50% as they wanted? What would be the benefit for the landlord to agree to a third party negotiation?

Cause they're large companies that work towards regions and counties, renting properties to official uses, not only for private persons.
It's different for smaller operators, they're not in the realm of "public utility", so the region won't meddle as much with their dealings.

Ah, I see. So it's like a corporate property.
Now only spending one pound on a soft drink.

Got a gift card for electricity from the electricity company.

Enough to last until the summer!
Luckily, I only live 10 minute from work so I can come home for lunch.

Wow, thats rad about the gift card!
My electricity bill is pretty low, it's the natural gas bill that's killing me...
I looked, and I don't quality for financial assistance, sadly.

I need to figure out how much to spend on my trip next month. I'm going to a wool festival and trying to decide if I buy just things for me, or get birthday and possibly Christmas presents for people. I have been doing some saving for it, my bank does this thing where it rounds up your spending to the nearest £ and that goes into savings, so I've been doing that and putting a little by as well. I think I'll just have to see what's there and how much things cost.
Then I need to start saving for my weekend away in September, thankfully both of these trips are paid for and it's just spending money required. Which will be what it'll be, as long as I can eat I'm not worried!
I'm happy that the energy bills won't be going up next month, but of course it is going up without the £66 discount so I will have to adjust my monthly budget for that. I've worked extra this month so should be fine next month, and I can work on how to lower my electric bill more if possible.

Pensions get another CPI rise next week 🙂 not sure how much, something like $25-$38 a fortnight. I gotta cut back on using my car, so the money will go towards coles delivery bags haah. Its just so nice to have food!

Im hoping I dont have to use air con much more this summer. I wont be running the fire until it is under 5C at night. We should have a couple months before that. I'll keep building up my kindling stash and pick up as much bush wood as I can on walkies. I dont think termites eat asbestos houses do they? I always worry about termites where I am.

Mum found a new leak in the laundry roof, but I have plenty of old horse feed buckets to catch drips so its not an issue and not in a walkway. I found where the mice are getting in, they ate through the newspaper stuffing in the gap between the floor boards and the wall in the spare room. I hadnt been in there until I cleaned it for mum and realized that's how the little buggers were getting in! Next time I go to the hardware store, I will get some more sealer. Until then, I will be satisfied by the sound of mouse traps snapping! If harvest hadnt run so late, they would have moved out of town by now, but record grain = record mice.

You live in an asbestos house? That stuff is dangerous.

Need to have an oven day soon, got given a bunch of bananas so I'll make banana bread, and I've said I'll make a cake for an Easter egg hunt as well, so at some point I'll have a baking day, and use the oven. Possibly the first week of April, I can easily freeze the bananas until then.

Freezing bananas will turn them mushy. Great for banana bread but not much else.
Woke up craving pizza, but that needs oven cooking, and I was going to do a roast chicken on my oven day, but I haven't had pizza in ages! I can't justify it, chicken will do a good 8+ meals, pizza is only one meal. Pizza is a special occasion when going out meal now.

You use a stove often, right? I heard there was a recipe for pizza cooked on stoves.

I have considered the mini ones and adding extra veggies, and putting in the airfryer. I might have to measure the basket first though!

My electric unit price is dropping a whopping 24 pence per kilowatt hour !! It's still 2-300% over what it should be ...but it's back in reality .

My standing charge is now like £10.50 a week though . That's just taking the mickey . Still I might survive another year here if things settle down a bit .

Tell me about it ! Not much left in budget , even mince is expensive .
Liver , homemade meatloaf , chops . I can't make a DIY burger worth a damn either 😛 .

Perhaps I will get an airfryer. My mouth has drooled after reading recipes for airfryers. Nice to know cookbook authors are experimenting with airfryers these days.

I have kangaroo in the air fryer right now. Will see how it turns out, it was a lazy recipe for the mince, I really did it half assed so could be interesting tasting ha.
