I'd forgotten that alongside the electricity going up, my internet did too.

I was slightly concerned about my phone bill, incase I had used it too much in Norway but that's not increased which is good.

Yes, my phone and internet went up about £10.
 
Yeah same here, mobile and internet are both up, but the pension is too so its not so bad.

Petrol was $1.50 something a litre today! Excellent 👌 especially because it is an ultra expensive day - sunday at the end of school holidays - and its still cheaper than its been in months.

I need to buy the next lot of dog flea/worm treatment which is always expensive! I could probably get away with doing it less but the mozzies are bad now and I dont want to skimp on heartworm.

Mine was only £3, but still more than I was paying.

@TamsinValencia cruise was good, I liked that so much food was included in it, so I really didn't have to spend much on board.

Yes, I'm going to fill up with diesel today.
 
This is the first year that I actually have the option to change my internet provider. The local company has had an effective monopoly for about a century I think. Which is why a fairly basic phone and internet package costs over £70/month.
 
OK simple rant. Normal loaf of 800g white bread at Tescos approx 70p, gluten free 400g loaf £2.15....why..... its mostly not by choice people pick the gf option. Sigh.
I used to spend around £60 on a weeks shop pre covid lets say around 2017-18. Now it's almost £100 and now Abbs is gluten/fructan free its a lot more than that. More sighage.

Yeah it sucks!
Filled the car up with diesel £1.30.9/l petrol was a little cheaper, so it's definitely cone down quite a lot recently. Of course it'll probably go back up again for winter!

Gasoline went up 5 cents a litre yesterday based on the excuse that the coming war between Israel and Iran was going to make gasoline more scarce because Israel was going to bomb the oilfields.

I suspect it will go up when the Budget happens. Which is October 30th apparently.
 
@NotASlayer sorry to tell you that chocolate is going up in price as there's a shortage. Something to do with the plants suffering from disease this year.

You mean going up again! Bars have shrunk and prices have gone up for the shrunk bars.

Maybe I should stock up. At least I can usually moderate myself. Unlike with mince pies.

You'll be fine with a Mars Bar type as they don't have much actual chocolate, but yeah they're still going up. I just went to get a posh bar as a birthday present and they didn't have much choice compared to usual.
 
I prefer Milk Ways to Mars Bars! But neither is that rich in chocolate.

A disaster turned into a bonus yesterday. It is time for the furnace to go on and it didn't. It is over ten years old and the company we are renting from doesn't support it anymore, so we have arranged to get a new one installed tomorrow. One of the problems these companies have had is someone signing the rental agreement without actually owning the home, so I had to get documents showing that the home, which was put in the name of my late wife, had been successfully transferred into my name. Among the documents, I found a government cheque for $2500 which I had never seen before. I was prepared to fight with the ban about its validity (it is two years old) but there was no problem - apparently government cheques do not have an expiry date. I will now be paying $5 a month more for the new Trane furnace and air conditioner than I was paying for the craptastic Rheem furnace and air conditioner.
