You say you are using poison? I am afraid to do that as it could poison my dogs.
What brand do you use? Perhaps I should try that.
Yeah its a worry for me too, I chuck the packs under the house and in the roof where there is no chance they could reach them. But its also a worry if they find dead baited mice, which is a possibility regardless of my own poison since the whole town and grain silos are heavily baited right now. There was only one brand available to order online Ratsak, but there are others in store. I would not trust them even if they said they were pet safe. I just have to keep a real close eye on what the dogs sniff at! A cat might end up being a useless hunter. I should get some more traps too because I caught one this morning!
Man, it can’t be as expensive as being single/unmarried like me, living alone and paying for all my own expenses. A dual income household would be such a dream now.
I hear ya, its hard to run an entire house on your own. A flat or unit is a different story, but maintaining a whole house and all that goes into that is difficult alone. I didnt realise because I had always been in units, but there is far more work and costs to a house, even with renting.
I am back on the apps again, but if I do find a relationship, I lose my pension, so they have to be secure enough to provide for me, or its just not worth it. Its not like I need the high life, a homeowner on $90,000 a year would easily cover my costs considering I live on less than $30,000 alone. Men on the mines are making upwards of $200,000 but so far I dont think I could put up with them, they have their own jet ski culture, and it is revolting.
It actually makes more financial sense for me to sleep around and have children because then I would have access to a whole lot more social support and higher welfare, even without child support from the father. My kiwi neighbours have it right spreading their kids out. Shes gotta be older than me with a kid out of highschool, three in highschool, kids in primary and a new born. Their extended family kept the town primary school in business for a few years, so the economic benefits are big to government funding kids like this. They are a very closeknit and loving family.
The only people I know who are doing well in this economy are renting out real estate.
Its the same here. We've always had overcrowding in social housing but now there are literal slum lords renting out beds for 12 hours in the cities since there is such a lack of housing for all the new people. It feels like the pressure is easing off a little down under now but I have never been so thankful for a home.
There is a house on my street with one of them living in a bus out the front and two caravans out the back. The house next to them just went up for rent, $315 a week which is insanely cheap but possibly because the owners are not going to maintain the place being so elderly themselves. I look forward to new neighbours, the old ones were methheads who screamed at me on the street, with a pitbull that escaped daily and twin teens with drinking problems.
