Could Andrew ever be a scooby gang member. I mean he speant a lot of his time fantisizing about it but could he actually be one of them.

I don't think it's a definite No. He did play a big part in the final battle and was living with Dawn and Buffy in ATS season 5.

You never know 🙂

I think that he had a pretty decent shot. I mean, had the situation as it existed in season 7 taken longer, say another season, I would definitely have regarded him a Scoobie, basically, he didn't make enough hours to really be a Scoobie IMO, but the basis was there.

your so wrong
No Way......As long as he lived he would always be part of Tara's death. He may not have been in the garden that fateful day, but he is part of the reason Warren kept on that route as he did. Had Johnathan and Andrew not joined Warren then things would definately been different. For instance, Warren looking for henchmen in the demon world is killed....or maybe he went back to university.....but because Andrew was there(with Johnathan) it led to Tara.
The only reason in season 7 he was treated like he was, was because the scoobies didnt have anything else they could do.
Had the proper means been available he would have been incarcerated for his crime.
No one of significance in the group made 'friends' with him. As far as it goes, only three people can make you a Scooby, Xander, who hates the guy for obvious reasons as well as he is annoying to him. Willow, again his connection with Tara's death, and Buffy.
Well Buffy always had the 'holier then thou' stance so she would never let him into that very secure inner circle.
In season 5 Angel its evident that Giles doesnt have any real appeciation of him. Hence the whole 'best man' schtick given before his intro. We know that Giles wouldnt say that, unless he was mildly taking the piss out of both Andrew and Angel.

Yeah, I liked Andrew, he was alot of fun, but I agree with you 100%.
Not the old scooby gang no, but I really liked Andrew and Dawn interactions. There was something there, they were sorta like the next generation. Dawn was never either a real scooby, but I can imagining both of them becoming watchers and all involved and sorta have their own Scooby gang.

Let them become the Powder Puff girls then. As much as i agree that they have the ability to do good, They(well maybe Dawn oneday) will never permeate the inner sanctum of the group...never become a Scooby...just useful.

I agree with Dia DeLa Muerte. I don't think there is any way Andrew could ever be considered one of the "Scoobies" for the reason stated above. It was a tough group to join. The only people who really became Scoobies that weren't an original Scoobie were people who were dating them. Ala, Oz, Tara, Anya, and Riley. I guess you could say that Dawn was part of the group but she is family so it is different.

I think Andrew could possibly be a scooby.I mean he was staying with Buffy and Dawn in Italy. They have to have some type of relationship if Buffy is letting him stay over her house.Andrew also kinda contributes with his gathering of slayers and stuff.Although,I do agree with DDLM about the whole Tara thing,I honestly think that Andrew has changed and therefore deserves forgiveness.I mean who in the scoobie gang or AI hasn't gone evil in one time or another?

I think it would be more trouble than it's worth, tho. Like Buffy said, he picks up evil's flavor like a mushroom.....they'd be constantly having to watch over him. And what skill is he going to offer to the group......maid service?

Oh so NO. He's just not cool enough. But seriously, he brought something I kind of liked to the show. But he wouldn't have enough to bring to join the Scoobies, he's just not interesting enough, in my opinion.

I think it's a maybe. Probably not a full-fledged member like Buffy, Xander, and Willow, but maybe one of the lesser members like Tara, Anya, and Dawn. They never really fit or were completely accepted, but they're still scoobies!

i'm gonna say maybe for this one.
he'll obviously never make it to full-fledged Scooby, like Xander or Willow, but the guys must trust him enough to send him after a psycho slayer, taking twelve other slayers with him.
he was living with Buffy and Dawn in Italy, so obviously those two feel something for the guy!
he could never be a true Scooby, but i think Andrew could make it to the outer circle!!

I agree that he brought something to the gang...and that he was trusted to an extent...i mean its POV by how much really....I just wouldnt call him a Scooby, because he isnt ever gonna be because 2 people in the group would be against it...he could be an off shoot....a Scrappy Gang member

If you think about it Angel was a scooby and continued to be after Jenny's death so why can't Andrew after all he wasn't responsible for Tara's death. Willow learnt to get along with Andrew and Xander and him had a lot in common.

i don't think Angel was ever a Scooby, Xander never trusted him enough for him to really be a part of the inner-gang, especially after he killed Jenny.
in my opinion, the Scoobies were Buffy, Willow, Xander and Giles. Cordelia and Oz came on board in S2&3, with Tara and Anya taking their places when they left. Dawn was never a Scooby, at least not until the last few eps of the show. and no one could ever call Spike a Scooby...he'd probably kill you!
Andrew and Dawn are kinda...using DDLM's word here...the Scrappy Gang.
