I kind of made a thread before regarding Connor and Holtz before in terms of their role in the season 3 arc, but for this one I wanted to sort of take qualities from both to make a singular character.

It would essentially be the same only it'd a younger vampire hunter that chased Darla and Angel in the past only to have his family killed by them and come to the present to exact his revenge. Since there would be no baby, He'd probably kill Darla and come after Angel by dismantling the Fang Gang. How would you guys feel about this for a change?

I liked Connor. I didn't like Connor and Cordelia, but I liked the questions that Connor provoked in Angel, the way it illustrates just how hard it is for anyone to grow up in the supernatural life... Unlike most times they bring on a baby/child to the story, I think it enriched the series to give Angel the one thing he never thought he could have -- a child.

I guess I just wish that maybe Cordelia and Wesley had taken Connor off somewhere to hide him and ended up raising him in a hell dimension while Angel,Fred & Gunn, Lorne and maybe Groo battled Holtz. Groo was way under used, IMO. (Maybe even Darla, if she somehow comes back from the dead (like Daniel Jackson from Stargate) to protect her son or something?)

It is tragic that Connor got tainted by Holtz' hatred. I wouldn't have minded avoiding that. Holtz' hate makes sense to me, though.

Maybe when that bitch came to kill Wesley, Cordelia ends up killing him instead and she and Wesley must run away with baby Connor to keep him safe and to hide from the cops? Maybe somehow the Quortoth gets opened by mega bitch before she bites it - (sorry, can't remember her name)

Was " a child" the one thing he really wanted though? I feel like they kind of stuck it in there s an attempt to kind of give him layers and tease him with aspects of a normal life.

Are you saying you wanted Cordelia and Wesley to betray Angel and run away with him to a hell dimension? Or them to try and protect Connor only to accidentally lose him to Holtz and then have him stolen and end up in a hell dimension?

I liked Connor. I liked Connor and Cordy. I liked Darla pregnant with Connor. I liked watching Connor drag that chick back into the meat locker to kill her. I liked Connor working with Holtz. I liked little Connor hockey jersey. I would not want a Connor and Holtz amalgamation.

A child was the one thing he, an immortal demon, could never hope to father. He certainly thought about that... we know when he leaves Buffy to find her normal that he regrets that he can't give her a child among other things. Did he want a child before it happened? Unknown. However, from his over-protective and completely obsessive over the top uber-fathering, we know he was totally into taking care of his child.

And of course, there's the fact that he gave up his freedom and that of his friends to get Connor a new life courtesy of W&H. Connor was his LIFE and he had to save him even if it risked the end of the world (as going to W&H did)

I am saying that maybe instead of Holtz ending up in the hell dimension, have Wesley and Cordelia end up there instead. (probably by accident)

It would make changes in them (but not as much as Holtz, since he's already well into middle age) but it would also give Connor something like real parents -- at minimum people who cared about him and didn't hate Angel. Remember, Wesley was running away with Connor... he didn't want Angel to kill him... He was trying to SAVE Connor, not betray Angel. If anything, he wanted to save Angel from his nature... and he was unfortunately, thinking like a watcher... which blinded him to Angel's motivations enough that he felt he couldn't talk to him.

Scenario:

What if somehow, Cordelia was around, and got a vision or something and went to confront Wesley (not to betray Angel) Then, there's any number of ways they could end up taking Holtz' place in quortoth accidentally.

Charisma was a decade older than the character she played in Buffy -- it's never said how old she was on Angel b/c IMO, they wanted to gloss over the fact that she didn't look like 19 or 20, but 30. It would have only taken a touch of gray to the temples for both her and Wesley to look like the fit, healthy parents of a teenager 15 years on. She's 7 years older than SMG ~ which is why she looks older than the other women whose contemporary she played (I think she looks fabulous for 47). IMO, she's aging better than SMG, considering she's nearing 50.

Anyway, have her age 15 years, and she's playing a character only 5 years older than her real age. And that would have given them time to have her off the show, if needed.

Then they'd return when Connor is old enough to punch through... a very different family... and yes, no Cordelia/Angel, and no Wes/Fred craziness.
