Well, I think my "more then human" they meant part demon (for all demon). That was always what I assumed.

As i remember, Spike didn't went for his soul, he went to that demon for repair, to remove his chip from his head. So he didn't want that soul, it was given to him. Correct me if I'm wrong

The writers pulled a fast one on us. Spike's words were ambiguous so that WE would think he went to get the chip out and be surprised by the soul. HE knew what he was after.

I think in Buffy and Angel there was a significant difference bwteen Slayer and Champion. They had to separate the two.
