Angel Preempted

Starting March 10, Angel goes off the air for five weeks to air fan favorite Smallville episodes.

This newsletter was sent out today:

Hey, Street Team Member!

Beginning March 10, The WB will be airing some of the best Smallville episodes ever for five weeks, Wednesdays at 9/8c.. This is good news for Smallville fans, but it gets even better. You get to decide which episodes will air!

"YOU SAY IT, WE PLAY IT" begins Wednesday, February 25 and runs until 5 p.m. ET March 9, the day before the first episode chosen by YOU will air. The top 5 picks will run during March and April on Wednesdays, 9/8c. (In case you're wondering, the final episodes of Angel will return after "You Say It, We Play It" concludes.)

Here are the details:

Go to http://www.thewb.com/sayit and watch video clips of the Smallville producers' top 10 episode picks from seasons 1 and 2. Then vote - you can vote as many times as you like, but can only vote for one episode at a time. The winning episodes will be announced online.

Oh for Pete's sakes....I'm really getting fed up of all this...although maybe Joss has to reshoot some episodes or something and that's why they're doing it.

It's still frustrating though.

I'd bet money on that, redslayer. I'm sure they need to retool some of the plot points and reshoot some scenes in order to make the finale work as a series finale and not just a season finale.

It'll end up being like Babylon 5 - they'll do all that stuff and then find out it's been picked up by some other network and we'll end up with S6 having an unsatisfactory finale because the S5 finale tied up all the loose ends or, as with Babylon 5, they hold the actual finale over 'til the show really finishes.

Then again, I'd rather have S6 with unsatisfactory finale than no S6 at all...😉
 
Joss has said he is not changing anything and that the final will stay the same. So there is no need for re-shoots. This has pissed me off so badly!

Ok, there's a couple of things I'm not clear on.

There's still going to be the full 22 episodes of Angel though, right?

Does this mean angel will go into June? That will be OK. Programming is pretty bad about that time. It will offer some real entertainment.

On the bright side. Smallville in Angel's time slot will show people how good Angel really was by comparison. One can hope Smallville repeats get murdered in the ratings to show Levin how stupid his proposed policy for next season is of replacing Angel with repeats.
 
::grrr:: ::fire:: WTF that is so not Fair!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't Believe it 5 God damn weeks No Freaken Way. Those stupid idiots. and they replace it with Smallville of all thing. give me a freaken Break. Why the F 5 Freaken weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!! ::grrr::
 
Too bad you dont have to write anything, like a box where you put comments or something. Otherwise I would say "I say Angel, you play it!"
 
Do you think that if we all contributed some of our finances we could raise enough money to hire a hit man to take out J. Levin?

This is horrible. I can't believe they give Angel the ultimate disrespect by cancelling it, and they can't even respect it by showing it all the way through. After all Joss has done for that network...

Yes... it I will doubt that they will be able to track 1000 of us. I will send over $40 🙂
 
I'll do the job for free, I already managed to kidnap J. Levin, he is currently tied up and gagged watching all my Angel DVDs in the basement. Figured I'd make him watch it over and over again and then play old "Seventh Heaven" episodes, so he understands exactly what he's doing, make him know the difference between "high quality and entertaining" from " Corny and boring". If he doesn't meet my needs, *whack off with his right arm.

Warning: The thoughts and comments of Hostile_17 is not those of the Angel/Buffy Discussion or it's subsidaries. Nor does Hostile_17 really have J. Levin tied up in his basement, but it's a nice though.

They are showing the rest of the season when the 5 weeks Of the Stupid smallvile crap is done. it says it in the letter that they will continue Airing the Angel eppis when the You say we play thing is done.

God it's going to be a terrible long 5 weeks. I think they are doing that cause I guess they want to finish up the last of the Angel eppi's in May and there isn't that many angel eppi's left to continue it from where it is after the 10 of March.
 
Oh, yeah, I knew that. I guess I did word it wrong. I meant all the way through as in straight through.
 
Relax kids, this way the last few episodes will run straight through, no repeats on the way. It'll be cool, trust me.
