Could You Handle Being A Celebrity?

Seriously, could you? Would you want to be famous? Especially these days. Think about it, to keep yourself relevant, you have to be on social media. The problem is, if you say something that a few people don't like, you could be cancelled...which can affect your career. And then you'd have to concoct a fake apology, blah blah blah.

I've never been the kind of person to apologise for something if I really meant it. I'd never choose to be famous, especially these days.

I dunno about that. There are many celebrities that don't do anything on social media and they seem to be held in higher regards, if not always talked about as much as those on X.

I've actually thought about this a few times. It's a resounding no for me. I'm an introvert, and a bit of a private person, I don't share all of my personal business on social media or with random people. Also, I can't imagine that I would enjoy people asking for my autograph or constantly taking pictures of me out in public. All the fawning would drive me insane. Not to mention having to walk on eggshells as to not offend fans with certain political and social beliefs. No thanks, I enjoy my peon life way too much.

I could be a celebrity. Let them try to cancel my retirement. What has been shown several times is if someone asks you for an apology, if you say 'no' they don't keep coming after you and they just accept your answer. My beliefs are pretty much along the lines of Bill Maher and he has come back from numerous attempts to shut him up. I would not be on social media because I have a life to live and I don't see dragging fans along for the ride as part of my life. I don't see Twitter/X as being my thing because it has a character limit for users of limited character.

I guess it depends on how you define celebrity. What with youtube and tictac, and even some politicians, the world "celebrity" is a lot more nebulous than it has been in the past.

No way! I have nothing to be famous for anyway.
I've never even put a selfie on insta or twitteX.

I considered a horsey insta if I ever got back to that, but tattle goes after disabled riders and I was in tears just reading that, not even about me or anyone I know personally!

So no, I could not cope being famous.

Once you get past the harrassment from fans and haters alike, I would imagine it would be quite glamorous.
Shiny designer dresses custom made, Hollywood roles, on-screen kisses with other hot celebrities, and tons of money!

The only way I would want to be famous is to be in one movie where I'm paid a gazillion dollars, and then retire. I can't believe all well-known actors don't do this! I would love power and/or wealth, but not fame.

I am happy that I am not a celebrity as I like going places without paparazzi trying to get my picture. I do not like being front and center nor would I like living without anonymity or privacy. I would not choose anything that would make me one.

I'm in the hell no category. I would only want the money, and a huge mansion or compound but the price tag for being a celebrity is too high.

Eh, but why am I famous? If I am famous due to my being a captain of industry, or a war hero, or a Archbishop or athletic or scholarly accomplishments, sure, probably. But I would hate to be Kardashian famous.

I guess it depends on how you define celebrity. What with youtube and tictac, and even some politicians, the world "celebrity" is a lot more nebulous than it has been in the past.

One definition (and the one I like the most) is that celebrity is how well you are known based on your personal life/exploits as opposed to your actual career job. Keanu Reeves is a star. Kardashians are celebrities.

Needless to say there can be overlap.

My ego would LOVE it but realistically, no, I couldn't handle it. I am introverted, socially awkward, and have the worst social anxiety of anyone you'll ever meet. I don't even like wearing bright colors because I'm scared it'll make people more likely to look at me. So being a celebrity would become a nightmare the second I left my house 🤣

But most importantly... I would get cancelled so fast. Someone would pull out screenshots of some wildly inappropriate things I said on Facebook at one point and it'd just be all downhill from there. 😳
