Countdown to Halloween ๐ŸŽƒ

Anyone done a murder mystery dinner party, a host your own rather than a restaurant/hotel type?

Not doing it for Halloween, might do an escape room instead, but looking at doing one at some point maybe over Christmas and New Years.

We've done a few. It's best when you have guests who are actually into role playing (ours is a large D&D group). If they aren't then you basically have people standing around reading their cues.

Now that could be a good New Years eve dinner party and a murder mystery party all thrown into one, ' who murdered Christmas why and how? ' Do not forget to have one person know the plot and play the role of the person who killed Jesus. To help matters along a bit do not have an atheist as the person who killed Christmas.

Hey yall. Sorry I have not responded much. My mother is in the ICU. She had a stroke.

But please, keep this thread alive. It's cheering me up a bit...

Not knowing her my thoughts of future happiness are with you, given that you hope she gets well please pass my best wishes on.
Well, of the couple of hundred or more houses I walked past, six had Halloween stuff up, only one a lot of it and in a couple of cases just inside. Maybe more will be put up closer to the time?

I know a couple of excellent prescription drugs that'll make it seem as though those houses were walking passed you !

Watched the Blair Witch inspired Dawson's Creek, and now watching the Four Scary Stories one during the college years.

I also have watched a few Goosebumps episodes! And part of VHS: Halloween, a new "found footage" film in the franchise.

Oh I do dislike the film The Blair Witch, I think it is the worst film ever made. Even though I bought it I would not give it away to a charity shop, I buried in in an unmarked grave a good 12 foot deep then placed a rock on it. Having said that I did and I still do enjoy watching Dawsons rip off of it.

I have such a nostalgic fondness for it because so many of us were duped when it first came out. I was about 10 or so, and convinced the Blair Witch would get me if I was in my back yard so long after dark because it backed up to some dense woods!

The day before Halloween and still only a handful of houses have any Halloween decorations up visible from outside. Maybe twenty, tops, out of a couple of hundred at least around here? Though the motion activated cackling witch is perhaps not a good thing to have up outside on windy days.

Happy Halloween everyone ๐ŸŽƒ

Have a couple of cinema trips planned today. A rewatch of the Corpse Bride (crazy itโ€™s been 20 years!), and a first time watch of Good Boy. Then Iโ€™m watching The Thing a bit later on steam if anyone wants to swing by? Have a great day.

I have a cinema movies marathon of The night Of The Living Dead & The Day Of The Living Dead (originals) & Scream (1997) ๐Ÿ˜ .

You poor so and so's over there, it is the November the 1st here, maybe the stores will get Christmas wrapping paper in now!

We had Christmas stuff to buy before Halloween items.

Here is a happy thought NotASlayer, those houses who did not put up the Halloween stuff, maybe they are planning to give Father Christmas the heeby jeepies after he has slid down the chimney! Satan is going to make a special appearance just before Santa clears the 'still hot' grate, tee hee.

Well Halloween in Shibuya was decidedly not epic...well it was epically wet! ๐Ÿ˜

Not Christmas yet; we're too busy celebrating Bonfire Night here. There were a lot of fireworks last night, and still more to come over the next week.

Bonfire night: Initially a celebration by Protestants against the Catholic church. Now some Catholics support that celebration against them.

Countdown to Easter? Post when you first see something Easter in the shops? Yes, I know it's only November, but I did see Malteaster Bunnies for sale in November before. (Yes, I bought one.)

I saw hot cross buns a while back, does that count?

I got busy eating a lot of the Halloween candy that remained and I lost three pounds! It looks like the effort of opening plastic and lifting the flaps on Smarties boxes gave me enough exercise to drop down to my summer weight.

If you ate American candy I'm not surprised, it is nowhere near as good as English chocolate. That stuff'll make you fatter.
