Potential
Buffy is now a goddess but we don´t know what she will do with all this power. Time travelling is dangerous and changing the past could make it all worse. Even a dream,alternate universe or a prohecy is possible.
My theory is she got sucked into her personal hell and has no powers at all and is stuck in a timeloop where she has to relive the first day in sunnydale high but at the end of the day all her friends die everytime. She is just a normal girl in Sunnydale and demons freely roam the city. The scoobies trying to find a way for her to escape but they can´t and in the end they decide to follow her into the hell dimension to help her from inside. This could be the new plane. Xander,Willow and Dawn would definitley do it. I can´t tell what happens to Spike or Angel but it´s likley they would follow her too.
The world needs a slayer so Faith and her watcher Giles have to stay.
Another theory is she and Spike destroy Twilight and banishes all demons in the process but the scoobies,Angel,Spike and all slayers get sucked into another dimension with them and get seperated. So season 9 is about their search for eachother and to find a way to return to their dimension.
I prefer my second theory because it would be very interesting to see how Xander or Dawn deal with the situation when they find out they are all alone and there is no sign of their friends at all.
I really hope nothing bad happens to Xander. I like his character after Buffy and Spike the most and i got this feeling in my gut Joss could do something horrible to him. Killing off Renee was terrible.
