Why one has to be shot down for the other I have no idea.

Yep, that'll be in my head all night. Good thing it's on my playlist already :P

Haha gotta love it though ;)
That's a bit patronising. And if that applies to Buffy, it should apply to all the teen characters. So Oz and Willow are automatically downgraded too.

Why one has to be shot down for the other I have no idea. So in Buffy's whole life, she's loved more than one guy. So what? Why does her relationship with Angel need to be cancelled out? It's not like Angel is around.
Also, not that the love between Buffy and Angel is over when she turned eighteen. The @EVIL UU's quote is from season seven. Right now I can see that Buffy is resentful with Angel, but to say that they have never loved, it's like ignore the whole show.

I just find it funny it's on a thread about the cover for an issue. Not even the preview issue thread. But I guess you have to wave your flag where you can.

Anyway DH can't totally ignore the shows in favor of this spuffy fanfics that the season ten is. So...to each their own.

They can write whatever they want. Then next season, if there is one, they can unwrite it just as the did the Bangel meant to be by prophecy nonsense from S8. That was fanfic. This is fanfic and it'll end badly just as that did.

Maybe never loved was an exageration of my part, but it was her first love, puppy love. Willow? She loved Oz, sure, but I believe the love of her life, mature love, was Tara. Can you envision Willow and Oz married? Let's say, if she had got pregnant and they got married, would they be still together? Will Willow love someone again? Maybe. Maybe not.

Willow and Oz married? Sure. Why not? Their relationship seemed mature enough to me for the most part.

Honestly, if a character says they love someone multiple times, I'm going to take their word for it. And as has been said already, it's not like Bangel completely ended in Graduation Day p2.

To be fair, I don't really buy into the 'soul mate/one destined love of your life' stuff though... so that'll impact on my view.

Exactly. I wouldn't be at all surprised, indeed I expect to happen just that. Buffy, in this season, is the Spuffy fandom voice and she says exactly everything Spuffy always wanted her to say about Spike,

Wow, we have power! I think for the first time of my life I'm in the right side of it! 😀

Angel and Buffy don't know each other anymore, they have been apart for years, it would be so out of nowhere if they got back together – but if it happened Bangels wouldn't think that as fanfic, wouldn't they?

But don't be so upset, because I think I've never being right concerning my theories or guesses about the show in general. The only thing I would have bet and would be rich was that Buffy wouldn't have the child in Season 9 – I wouldn't guess abortion or a robot, I would say “miscariage”, but I would be right.

Of course it.. it ended when she realized what a swell hunk of a man Spike was...
but if it happened Bangels wouldn't think that as fanfic, wouldn't they?
I am not a bangel but of course it would be fan service. Everything from, and including season 7 was and is fan service. It could be argued that season 6 was as well. The comics are being written by hack writers, pure and simple.

Oh Oh I see a lot of wolf cubs playing merrily in their garden 🙂

You know... me too. Maybe it's the reason I see a relationship to be more "real" when is built day by day, two people living and working together and discovering that they love each other. If Spuffy got me years ago, it was more because Spike's love for Buffy, mixed to his journey to redemption - and because the sex and James Marsters hot body, of course, because I'm shallow like that. But now, they know each other for years, the best and the worst of each one, it's more... real.

Buffy and Spike could be together for years - since if she runs away now, it would be very rude of her - then amicably split up, then Angel comes to work in SF (or Buffy moves to London for some reason), and by working together, they reconnect, and then, they find out that they love each other. It could be done in one season. It would be fan service? Bangels would think that to be fanfic?

Season 6 and 7? I think you are giving to much power to... us, viewers. Give some credit to Joss, to what he wanted to tell!

Will Willow love someone again?

But she did love again. She loved Kennedy ( well...OK, this one's debatable ) and she loved Aluwyn and she will find love with another lover in the future. That's just Willow for you. Her girlfriend was shot in front of her and, what, 6 months later she was already with someone new. Never underestimate Willow's capacity to love - it's pretty monumental.

They can write whatever they want. Then next season, if there is one, they can unwrite it just as the did the Bangel meant to be by prophecy nonsense from S8. That was fanfic. This is fanfic and it'll end badly just as that did.

I know it's hypocritical coming from me but man, you're such a downer 🙂 I know, I know, comics are bad, yes but come on, are you not entertained? Not even a little bit?

Wow, we have power!
The power to scream louder, you know... the Spuffy mantra "we are legion" 🙂
But don't be so upset
I'm not upset at all 🙂 I'm just waiting to see Buffy back to being Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Where is Willow? She is certainly not among my favorite characters, but in the comics she is definitely one of the most interesting characters. I want more Willow and less Spike... I want more Giles and less Spike...

"The power to scream louder, you know... the Spuffy mantra "we are legion" Really? Thats new one on me, truly never heard that, but I suppose it's better then Bangels referring to themselves 'Warriors'. Huh...

The fandom debates are entertaining. The story? What's entertaining about it if you don't care much about ships?

Here's the story... right! exactly what is the story?

They changed the world, again.

-Rewrite the magical rules.
-Overcome temptation to write something about the book for your benefit (Spike... hands down by the Shanshu, is not for you, it was never for you)
-What is happening is really all real? Anya-enchantresses mermaids-and everyone lived happily ever after etc.
-The BigBad? so far is unknown or nearly.

Sincerely I'm still waiting that season beginning, because so far there is not much to talk about. Now this crossover resurface the eternal stale extremely boring love triangle, but I also hope to see (besides the inevitable stupid interactions Angel/Spike) a comparison between Xander and Angel about (for example) the betrayal... but I know that Gage prefers reshuffle the usual obsolete lines spuffiel, but I'd be disproved.

Buffy: I killed Angel! Do you even remember that? I would have given up everything I had to be with- I loved him more than I will ever love anything in this life. And I put a sword through his heart because I had to.

Yo, I may not know much about love but when Buffy says that she loved Angel more than anything she will ever love in this life - I believe her and I certainly think that she knows better than @gite63

And I'm sure that Buffy meant exactly what she said, and believed it absolutely. At the time that she said it.

How can anyone as young and relatively inexperienced as Buffy is at that point actually know what her feelings will be in the years to come? Then it was Angel, now, apparently, it's Spike, and who will it be this time next year? Buffy is a human being first, and a Slayer second. Neither one of those things gives her the ability to see into the future.

That Buffy didn't love Angel is utter and total fanon. It's almost straight up Bangel-hate actually.
Because some people (small, immature people) can't enjoy something nice without having to try and tear down something else to make their ship look better.

I can buy that Buffy doesn't love Angel now, maybe- that's certainly possible after Twilight, but never? Delusion.

Absolutely, Buffy loved, and always will love, Angel. That's what first loves are. They are the yard stick by which we measure all of the loves that come after her time with Angel. And there have been loves since Angel, and almost certainly will be more, perhaps even greater, loves in the future.

That in no way "tears down" anything whatsoever that Buffy shared with Angel. If anything, it reaffirms it and defines it as probably the single most important love in her life. Without a first love, there can never be a second love, or a third, or a twenty fifth love. True delusion would be trying to say that Buffy loves Angel, only Angel, and will never love anyone else again.

If what we saw in the preview of this issue proves nothing else, it proves that Spike's feelings for Buffy are sincere. Buffy is inside his mind, actually feeling what he feels, not just hearing the words spoken. This is the first time that she, or we, have had that kind of affirmation of anyone's feelings for anyone else in the entire Buffyverse. That in no way denies that Angel's feelings aren't just as real and sincere. It merely affirms that Spike does, actually, love Buffy, and, if her words are to believed (we're not inside her mind here, so we only have her word, and a few tears to go by) she also loves him. That's for now, with no guarantee what the future brings.

That's enough for me.

Well said.

Plus, hello? This is Whedons world, so you know any relationship when it's doing well will end in tears. It's the way of things, so those shippers getting their preverbal knickers in a twist are doing it imo over nothing.

Oh, I hope so ;)

Another example of you tearing down one ship to make another ship look better. This is one of the last things that Willlow says to Oz.

OZ: It was stupid to think you'd just be waiting.

WILLOW: I was waiting. I feel like some part of me will always be waiting for you. Like, if I'm old and blue-haired and I turn a corner in Istanbul and there you are -I won't be surprised. Because you're there with me - you know?

Now, you can choose to to believe it, or maybe Willow was just being nice/comforting to Oz before he left for good, but I could see old, white-haired Willow and grizzled, beardy Oz spending their golden years together.
In no way does that diminsh Willow/Tara- all ships have thier appeal, your ship is not the one, true ship.

I was responding to a specific quote where somebody was claiming that Buffy 'never loved Angel' or saying it was 'child-like' love, y'know, like in 'IWRY' when Buffy and Angel spent most of the day shagging?
Or how about in S5 when her need/feelings for Angel are still obviously very intense, is that child-like? She's twenty for pete's sake. That poster way absolutely tearing down another ship just to increase the importance of their OTP.

The story? What's entertaining about it if you don't care much about ships?

The Scoobies are together again, like really, finally together and I love it! Willow plays video games with Giles. Spike, Dawn and Xander play cards together. Spike and Xander go out, have a beer and talk 'bout chicks. Willow and Xander actually talk to each other. Buffy and Willow steamroll baddies as a duo and things between them are truly OK. Buffy and Faith don't greet by beating the crap out of each other. Anya haunts Xander! Andrew's...no, Andrew's still an insufferable turbo-wanker but oh well, can't have everything, I suppose. Come on!

It's...it's beautiful ;_;

If I have to suffer through some Spike/Buffy ( well, not really suffer - have to admit, it's not that terrible, at last there's some humor in this relationship and anyway they're kinda cute so yeah ) to get all this awesome shit, then so be it, suffer I will. And hope for the worst of course, I'm still evil after all 😉
