Wow, a Hank storyline! It's almost like hearing of a sasquatch sighting! (he's gonna be evil, isn't he?)

And aw, the first cover melted my heart a little - in spite of the fact that I've turned my back on the comics - because Buffy and Giles, together again.
 
I like how Buffy looks in the first one - she looks, I don't know, really...mature? Also, n-nice arms :] As to Hank - I mean, why do they even bother? He's in, like, four episodes and most of the time he's not even real! Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Hank, as in the real Hank - not a dream/hallucination/magical whatever have a total of one scene with Buffy? What's the point? I don't know, I'm just not excited. Don't they have anything more interesting left to explore? Hopefully they'll surprise me.

I am calling it now. He is supernatural. He is either a vampire, a demon or something. There is something about him that she has to kill him. He can't be 'normal' and it will be therapeutic for Buffy to kill her father.

So Hank did call every month! Aha! Also, I like Buffy's hairdo, the braid is kind of epic, Will looks pretty cool as well, I mean, she is a witch after all, it is legal for her to dress like that, awesome midriff though. Giles is just totally adorable and so not getting laid.

Xander seems less annoying in the comics. From this preview of a comic. Never read the comics.
Xander's pretty cool in the comics. He's actually changed a lot, you know.

I think he is going to stay a kid and randomly- based off of external stimuli- turn into an adult. I think the cover is more than just an homage to the Hulk, I think it's giving away a plot point.
 
Does someone venture a guess of which would be the the reason for Hank wanting to have dinner with his daughters? I have no idea; will Buffy make peace with her dad? Would Hank want something from Buffy, the Vampire Slayer? Is he evil now? Has he spend all their inheritance?

And grow-up Giles is cool. But, besides getting laid, what will he do, what will happened to him? I really don't know what this issue will bring to us.

I'd agree as long as they tone down the horndog schtick.

Also, Hank calls Buffy now?

I think Isaacs looks at SMG's stylings. It explains the hair and those stupid leggings outfits.

Can't say I'm a fan of the rules of this spell. Wouldn't you know, there's just the perfect spell that works within the confines of the needed plot and will disappear when we don't need it! They should have just used that thing to that turned Andrew into a superhero... It would have worked and lacks the ass-pull smell. This issue just reeks of filler. :-/

No idea either. Last time we actually saw this guy was in season 2. Maybe it has something to do with Dawn fading/memory issues? Buffy, why didn't you tell me that Dawn's not real? or something along these lines. Hank might be a dog or whatever but he still has the right to know.

Willow mentioned aging spell in issue 6 so not exactly an ass-pull. Besides, witch did it is a staple of Buffyverse storytelling present in some of the best episodes - I'm cautiously optimistic.

Might have something to do with that Theo Daniels guy. Maybe Hank wants to use Buffy's contacts?
 
Will mentions looking for something to re-age him and Giles says no. I stand by the sudden appearance of this spell being an AP.

Maybe he wants to borrow some money. He might think she has some from her years as a world-renowned international terrorist and bankrobber.
 
Of course he can. That doesn't have anything to do with the spell tailor made for the issue popping into existence. On that note, I wonder why Will can't create spells. On the show she could tweak them, so it would follow that by now she could just create them.

Anyway, the whole thing was tongue-in-cheek. I am curious why no one has mentioned the cup of whatever to fix Giles. Unless they're saving it for something else or as a more permanent fix.

WILLOW: Uh, I've been looking into your problem, the re-aging option...
GILES: No. Resurrection was quite enough. Thank you. I don't wish to be meddled with magically any further.
WILLOW: If we mess with you, it might unravel everything... and you could die.

I had forgotten that; but of course, Willow hasn't... she would never stop looking for a way to fix Giles (off-panel), and when she finally finds some spell that can work (even temporally), she certainly wouldn't keep it for herself – human nature. And Giles is quite fed up with being a kid... you know, he has needs.

Well, Daniels created a code that opened portals... and the Scoobies are dealing/will deal with portals, and keys. maybe this issue won't be just a filler...

Another thing: Hank appears in the same issue that old Giles is back; Buffy's two fathers... Will Hank be a disappointment (yet once more), like Faith's father? Faith fell for the “loving dad” thing pretty hard, only to have her heart crushed.
