Love the first one - Buffy looks awesome!
In the second one Xander looks... not like Xander... Is that supposed to be Olivia with Giles?
Haha, the third one is cutesy awesome 🙂

The first one actually looks like an oil painting.. a cheapo turn your photo into a painting oil painting but an oil painting none the less. Wonder if it was.

And yet again more Spike centre stage on the cover and they wonder why sales are dropping...
Talk about beating a dead horse...vampire.

1st Cover: Buffy is very well rendered (Spike less so- his eyes look black and he looks older than he should) overall this is pretty good.

2nd cover: is mostly Spuffy-shipper bait- boring, but its nice to see Olivia (?) and Willow's love interest (Allwyn?) returning

3rd cover: Pure awesome- that's the one I'm getting. I like cake.

"Spike centre stage on the cover and they wonder why sales are dropping..."

I'm afraid sales started dropping long before Spike was even in the comics let alone on the covers.
The second cover - OK, this is just sad. What's the message here? Imagine that you've seen the show, have not read any comics, you see this cover, what do you think? I'll tell you. It's season 10 and with the notable exception of that disgusting, boring, underdeveloped, poorly designed, furry-pandering snake *thing* that's been polluting the franchise for more than 3 seasons already by the way the scoobies are dating (?) characters that's been on the show since at least season 5. This is lifeless, static, same old, same old, stale, beyond stagnation. What, they can't even come up with new people...right, let's not demand too much here, vampires, demons, monsters, whatever-the-hell-that-lizard-is for the main characters to have sex with? Too much effort, I guess.

For the time of year that particular comic comes out, they are probably going for a cover and story that sort of ties in with Valentine's Day. Just more on the romantic angst that seems to be part of everyone's arc for the series.

God the Spuffy shippers on some other boards are going INSANE over that second cover! 🙄

They think somethings genuinly gonna happen because Buffy has finally realised that she's in love with Spike. 😵

Quite a change from last year where Buffy did have a chance to be with Spike, but didn't want to because she doesn't actually love him.
That was the point of that whole arc...which if you think about it is really insulting because the arc was supposed to be about Buffy's pregnancy but still, that's the only concrete thing that came out of it.

Best case is that we get a quirky romance issue with all the Scoobies and their various love lives.

Worst case is that Buffy gets jealous of Spike moving on with someone (Dylan?) and realises she still has feelings for him...God that would suck. A totally hackneyed, cliched plot.

Better get that swimming pool ready 'cause we're about to bathe in their tears! Shippers man, I don't get it. These two getting together is just not good storytelling at this point, not that they care. Geez, I can't stand Spike in the comics, he's just so unlike himself. It's like he's not a even a vampire any more. Drinks pigs blood, has friends, never gets laid and doesn't even stalk teenage girls - this shit is unacceptable. I don't expect him to go back to the murder, rape, torture lifestyle but remember "Get It Done"? When he fights that demon? He's just so happy! There's so much energy there and charisma and vitality and punk and youthfulness. Kill a demon, light a smoke, get smashed. Hell yes!

We lost that Spike, his teeth, his everything that's not Buffy, Buffy, Buffy, Buffy oh Jesus Christ just leave/kill the bitch already! It's like fan fiction written by an ageing LJ dweller, Harlequin-level garbage, not even a soap opera. BtVS used to be groundbreaking. What happened?

Now he's just a hollow character.

Season 6 happened.
Honestly, after S7 they ran out of ideas for Spike- Joss wanted to kil him off in a heroic blaze of glory, saving the world- go out on a high. And he should've stuck to his guns.

And although Spike is good in S5 of Angel I did notice that, unless he was interacting with Angel on the show, the writers really had to struggle to fit him in someplace for the plot.
He's mostly wandering in 'being Spike', whether it's 'ghost' Spike or 'not quite a W&H employee' Spike, or even 'Angel side-kick' Spike, he's just there- reminds me of Buffy S4. He adds stuff, but not character development stuff.

And he's pretty unrecognisable in the comics. He's boring, and Spike was never boring on the show. He may have pissed you off, but he was there, he had charisma.

Angel in ther comics is still Angel, Spike is, like you said, defined by Buffy. 😉

I seriously doubt that there's anything along the lines of Spuffy apt to happen in #11. Spike's not ready to take Buffy back yet. Maybe someday, if she tries real hard and gets really, really lucky, but not yet. She hasn't suffered enough.

This is a pretty transparent attempt at a sales grab. Are they still teasing Spuffy? Can't Spike go off and do something else for a change? I liked him so much better when he's in L.A than when he's with the Scoobies (that is to say, can't stand him either way, but he's more tolerable with Angel's group).

"Speed dating"? Can we give Buffy's love life a break? Ever since season 4 or so, it's constantly been the least interesting plot thread in the series.

Nice to see Olivia back, I just wish we'd seen more of her in the actual show. And that last cover is pretty adorable, not gonna lie.
