Okay... i do media studies and we had to do an assignment on audience reactions to stuff. So the teacher was looking for something that would cause a reaction with us all.
To cut a long story short theres this film called crash... not the new one though. Its like a quite old one and its about these people that get turned on by car crashes... very weird and actually rubbish. Theres lots of sex on cars and stuff and its a horrid film... really pervy and stuff! not nice at all!

So im wondering... has anyone seen it and what did you think?

Haven't seen it. But just for future reference, what exactly do you exprect us to write here? Are we all supposed to hate the movie or what?
See, that's happens when you cut a long story short, now I'm completely lost with what exactly I should reply.

Oh sorry... i didnt think of that. No its just your opinions if you've seen it really... like what you thought and stuff. I dont like it myself but if someone does then its an opinion and thus a discussion may start.

Sorry for any confusion...

Thanks for posting though, nice to see someone has read it. So thanks for the feedback, i'll keep it in mind in future! xox

It was a really long time since I saw that movie.
It's a David Cronenberg film isn't it?
I do recall thinking it was a decent movie, a bit weird though...

I also recall that you get to see Deborah Unger nude, so it can't be all bad 😉

/SK

Lol, "Crash" is an old movie? *chuckle* If that's old, then I'm crusty ancient. :lmao:

I saw it in the theaters when it came out. I hate going to see "talkies" - ie, what my mother wants to see when we go have our lunch date thing. She likes the emotional, angsty stuff, whereas I prefer a few explosions/car chases/fist fights in between the sex in between the talking. But whatever.

I just remember that I liked it overall, but remember thinking somewhere midway that people will never change. I mean, we'll always be divided and fighting over something - the color of your skin, your sexuality, your religion, your financial status, and so on. Why? Because people are stupid. We've always been stupid, and we'll always be stupid. It's all about money, and stupidity, with a thin veil called 'civility' to hide our animalistic nature, to eat, sleep, fight and... and am I channeling Anya too much? lol

I loved the song at the end, though. 😀

I'm going to guess and say this has something to do with Shocking Cinema? We had to watch a clip of this back in my high school film class. I do remember pretty much hating the film the moment I saw it. The parts that didn't shock me were disinteresting to me and the parts that did shock me were, well, shocking. Haha. I didn't enjoy the film at all and I thought the theme and narrative was a particularly twisted and horrid one.

I realize that makes me sound a bit prudish, but I'm not! Honest! I just really didn't like this film, haha

He said not the new one. So considering that you weren´t born then the first one came I don´t see you as ancient. 😉

Now I´m not sure if I´m right since I haven´t seen any of them so I´ll post both links.

Old Crash (1996/I)

New Crash (2004/I)

My bad. His post was kinda rambly and didn't make sense and so I guess I must've skimmed down to the part where he asked for opinions.

I was born in 1972.

I've seen it, the one with James Spader right? I found it very strange and a little disturbing, but then people get off on a lot of things so really I guess maybe it opened my eyes a little as to what I just said actually means (I was young and naive, I swear!)

There are a lot better movies out there, that's for sure!

Hi everyone... Sorry for not posting sooner on here.
Right... first of all i didn't mean to say that anyone who didnt watch it was weird and stuff... That was very unintentional trust me. In the class when we watched it there was a divide in opinions, and thats partly why we watched it. Personaly i didnt like it and have to agree with what Joyce said (about it being a little uninteresting when they were not having sex... and shocking when they did), but i respect it that people do like it if thats what they like... i would never say anything to upset people and stuff and so i am sorry if thats the case.

Next i am sorry if i 'ramble' as its been put. I thought it was quite clear to be honest but i suppose i would because i am used to my writing style and way with words. So again i am sorry for any confusion or rambling... i only try.

Oh and yes its the David Cronenberg one... i forgot his name but yes. Howard shore who conposed the music for the Lord Of The Rings did the soundtrack actually... which i was rather surprised at as i thought it was a little pants (again... personal opinion, no offence meant to anyone who did like it).

Next up... i didnt mean to say anyone was old... i meant the film was the older version (as i think someone pointed out)... i said this merely so no-one thought i was on about the new one.

Okay... thats cleared up.
*breaths a sigh of relief*
