Crazy weather

Hey I just recieved an email from my school about tornado policy (something that is pretty much a no brainer here) and I was just wondering if anyone else had to deal with crazy weather where they live? I know there has been a weather thread before, but I'm kinda curious!

I love how people who aren't from here freak out at tornado warnings. Any real Okie knows the proper thing to do is not to hide in your basement/closet/bathtub but instead climb onto the roof of your house with your videocamera to try and get the best vantage point!
 
Oh, This is SO appropriate thread! It was still spring in the very morning, a bit wet, yet warm enough. So I put on my spring-season shoes. And what do you think? Right after dinnertime it started to rain gradually transforming into the snow!!
And here I am in my springy clothes. So, such simple thing as return home from work turned into one big disaster. Especially since I got one heel broken.
No fruit for Vicky... 🙁
 
No weather weirdness here very often. Very cold is considered strange though 😀 Hehe. I read somewhere that South Californians like to brag that we 'don't have weather. We have climate'. Teehee.
Earthquakes can be a bit of an annoying thing though sometimes, though big ones don't happen very often. At least; they haven't in my life anyway.

I loved it when my husband (who was then just my boyfriend. Gasp! Sorry, thoughts like that sometimes wig me out, haha) had his first quake while he was staying in California for a while. He was a mixture of OOH and ARGHHHH, while I was like 'Nyeh, it'll be over in a moment'. Teehee.

You just generally have to get in a sheltered area, maybe a doorway. Course I mainly just go 'Don't let the such-and-such-a-thing fall off the shelf!'. This is followed by me diving to make sure I can catch it. Haha
 
The craziest weather we get round here is hail and wind. We've been having bouts of hail all week/weekend which is not very helpful when you're trying to paint a garage door! My cats hate it too, being in the conservatory the hail is extremely loud.

Tornados sound scary though, even 70mph winds round here scare me!!
 
They really aren't, unless its a really big one close by. The only time I remember really getting scared from a tornado is May 3, 1999. The biggest tornado ever to hit a metropolitan area and it was 1 mile north of my house!!! The scary part was after it was over we tried to go to check on my grandma (she lived at the time about 3 miles north of us) and we couldn't get there because of all the destruction. Our town was literally decimated. Luckily (for her at least) the tornado hit about 4 blocks south of her house and so she was ok.
 
Yesterday it was kinda chilly and windy. Without wind chill it was probably about 45 or 50. And then it started to SNOW! It was too freaking warm to snow, but it did it anyway! Stupid weather.
 
Lots of weather weirdness over here. We didn't have snow all winter, and all of the sudden now, in late March, we have tons of snow. Really, it's snowing every day.
And it's not like I'm living anywhere really North or anything, I live in the Middle of Europe, where we normally have a snowy winter and a sunny summer. But these times seem to be over.
 
We've just been getting SNOW! apparently it was the coldest winter since 1994! and that was okay! cause i think we got about 10 storm days!🙂 Finally its stopped snowng and the temperatures aren't -20 anymore!
 
But, Bangel, you're in Canadia. Doesn't it snow there all the time, even in July?

(I'm totally kidding. That was me being a stupid, oblivious American for ya.)

HAHA well it sure dos snow a lot, but not in July! :p (thank goodness!)
I hate snow, I really do, and it's same me moving to Canada someday this year...
Right now, I'm cold as dog here, without any water to fill the bath tube. I'm longing hot bath! I want to live in it.
I'm considering skipping work tomorrow. Stupid snow.
Rain is cool, I've nothing against it, especially warm rain, but all this snow... 🙁
