Crisis On Infinite Earths

There must be someone here besides me who's been keeping up with this arc, so I just thought that we might discuss it a little, since things are kinda slow around here at the moment.

They've finished the first half of the story and comes back for the ultimate finale in January, and I can't help but notice the similarities between this and MCU's "Infinity War/Endgame" movies, even going so far as to herald the proposed death of Green Arrow the same as "Endgame" had the death of Iron Man, even to the point that both characters were the ones who were in effect the flagstone of their respective universes. Obviously, with both the budget ans big screen/small screen restrictions, the DC version doesn't have the scale of the MCU, but, what do you think? Enjoy it, hate it, or don't really care one way or the other. This is the part where you add your comments

I think the DC original Crisis comics predate the MCU story and the Arrowverse version is a re-telling of that series. In the comic series the major deaths were Supergirl and The Flash (Barry Allen) and the end result was that all universes in the DC multiverse were folded into one in order to reconcile all the different continuities that had evolved during their history. I didn't think it worked and didn't like it at the time...neither did DC, as they have since re-established their multiverse through various crossover events.
Having got that off my chest, I must say that I've been enjoying the Arrowverse Crisis buildup eps and am looking forward to seeing how the actual crossover eps play out. We're a couple of weeks behind in the UK, I think, and also we don't currently get Batwoman, so I'm not sure if we'll get the full crossover experience here (if anyone knows of an easy, not illegal way of watching Batwoman here please feel free to share 😉)

Almost certainly right. but I never read that DC arc, and just forgot about it (I do remember hearing that Supergirl died in that one, but apparently not this time) I just forgot about the comic book version, but, then I think that the Justice Society and League both predate the All Stars and the Avengers, so plot swapping seems to be pretty common.

I assume that the aftermath of the "Crisis" story line" will be having all of their characters on the same Earth from now on, since that was one result of the comic book version, which would make future crossovers less compliced, if not frequent.
