Crosses...

Now please don't laugh if i am being dopey but how come vampires all look away from crosses and can't touch them yet in a cemetery they all seem to lean on tomb stones which are crosses?

I have a feeling that its because they are not silver, but can anybody shed some light on this topic for me?
 
Darlas right if Buffy or anyonw shows a vamp a cross they say it hurts and looks away. Yet vampires are always touching cross tombstones and things. Like the Dulac cross numorus vamps toched that but it didnt burn them.
 
Exactly, this is just very confusing.... making refrence to 'Blade' they said that things have to be silver yet in Buffy they run from a wooden cross. I am going to send this question to 'Buffy the vampire slayer magazine' and see if they can answer it....
 
Maybe people don't even realize it; the directors and actors, I mean. I'm pretty big on vampire lore and what not and I still don't even know how to answer this question. Honestly, I just think it's a blooper of sorts, but.. :: shrug :: . If you find an answer, please post it.
 
I think it's a matter of interpreation, in lroe it says vampires are afraid of crosses, yet on blade it all has to be silver (which confused me, isn't it a silver bullet for a werewolf?) and on buffy they're afraid by a tiny plastic cross necklace. I havne't ever noticed them leaning on cross tombstones, I always thought they were pretty careful about that...plus it's a matter of the director saying "whoops forgot about that...ahhh well no one will notice" they never met us lot did they 😀
 
They obviously have'nt! I'm pretty sure silver is for a werewolf Willow!😉
I have obviously just noticed an ultimate blooper there then, it only happens once in a while though.....
 
yes silver is for warewolfs (i'm so sure i could bet my life and the lives of others on it i'm that positive). i personally think that the whole thing just might be a blooper because there is no logical reason that can come up with to answer your question. so, i just think it's a mistake.
 
i think in some vampire lore its the faith shown in the cross that scares the vampire.in buffy it looks like a blooper to me tho'
 
I don't remember any episodes involving any vampires leaning on any cross gravestones.... 😕 Could you post the episodes you remember? Vampires can't touch any type of cross, (Wooden, Silver, Steel, etc.) because it burns them. The only reason Spike could touch the du Lac cross, was because he wore thick, leather gloves. The BladeVerse rules, differ from the BuffyVerse rules: In Blade the cross has to be silver, in Buffy it doesn't matter. And, I can back ashley*marie & Darla up, the bullet has to be silver for werewolves. But, if there are episodes showing them doing that, then obviously they made a mistake. 🙂
