In the scene in the Bronze with Drusilla and Spike; Why does Spike hesitate to bite that girl on the balcony? Then, why does he do it anyway? He doesn't seem to be in pain. Is he just enduring it to prove to Drusilla he can? Or"¦is he faking it? (The sucking of her blood, I mean) He doesn't automatically yell out in pain like he normally would if he tries to bite a human...what's going on here? Anyone else notice this? Any thoughts?

I thought the chic was dead when he bit her. Didnt Dru kill her then give her to Spike?

Drusilla killed the girl by breaking her neck first because she knew Spike couldn't. 🙂

i always had a problem with that... but my mums said she was already dead

fair dos...

at least she must have been injured right?

Yeah, Dru kills her before handing her over to Spike and that way the chip doesn't hurt him.
I think if they'd carry on with this Spike would have felt bad, 'cause mostly it's Dru killing for him so he can drink like he's hadicaped or something. That's gotta do something to a man's ego lol

awwww it did always niggle me... i thought she was mystical and then i just let it go... glad i know now though.

You can her the girl's neck snap. This is where she dies.

And about the other question...
Well, Spike did change a little. He's changed for Buffy, so I think he was thinking of her when Dru gave him the dead girl. This is the proof that he's really changing. Of course he bites the girl, because he wants to be back to his old him. Forget his love for Buffy and get back with Dru-his real him, the 'him' he wants to be. He didn't want to fall in love with Buffy. it just happend. So this is where he tries to be a vampire again.

Yeah, it's the sound effect that's often edited out when it's shown on TV. Completely messes the scene up.
yeah i thought he reverted to old self.. or trying to push out how he felt and go back to what he was like with dru.

I know now and accept that the girl was dead when he fed of her. For a while though I thought that eventhough the girl was dead Spike kinda faked the feeding part to fool Dru because he already had the plan in mind to tie her up and offer to kill her for Buffy. After repeated viewings i do believe he did actually feed, but its fully plausible the other way too, he hadn't fed on a human in over a year at that point afterall.... but if not then when do you guys think he decided to double cross Dru?

When i saw that part, i thought that maybe they were heading in a direction that the "chip" was all a mind-over-matter thing for Spike. I thought that's what Drusilla was there to try and teach him...that if he *really* wanted to be bad, he could still be. But obv, they didnt head in that direction as we see as the seasons go on..
