Is anybody doing a complete re-watch of either/both series? Where are you at?

I'm doing my 3rd Buffy & 2nd Angel re-watch. Technically, I've seen some Buffy episodes more than 3 times, but my 1st watch (which was not when it originally aired, I watched it in syndication but did catch some of the last season as it originally aired) was sporadic. I did catch some Angel episodes as it originally aired, but I'm not counting that because I didn't watch consistently & didn't understand what was going on.

Anyway, I'm currently on Buffy season 4/Angel season 1. Starting with this season I'm watching the seasons back to back- an ep of Buffy & the corresponding ep of Angel. It's cool to do it that way because of the crossovers. I'm sure it won't be that important in seasons 5 & 6 of Buffy/2 & 3 of Angel, but more important in season 7/4 of Angel. I'm watching btwn 2-4 eps per night, depending on what I have going on & if my husband hogs the TV LOL. I'm watching on Netflix since I unfortunately don't have either series on DVD.

I'm on my 4th Buffy re-watch(although I only really count it as my 3rd). I'm on season 1. And I STILL haven't finished Angel...🙁 BB always finds a way to distract me lol. I'm watching Angel on netflix, but I'm going to be ordering the complete series next week. So yes, Netflix does tend to be your best friend lol.

I was going to do a Firefly rewatch but a friend of mine never saw Buffy, so we are doing party on Netflix over XBL. I also wanted to do a Charmed re-watch but I don't own it and I really don't feel like waiting for Netflix to send it to my house since there is no instant streaming.

I started Firefly on the BB hiatus, but haven't finished it yet. I have it, Dr Horrible, and Dollhouse all pulled up in my instant qeue, just don't know when I'll have the time to watch it all LOL. Hey, Firefly Blu-ray is on Amazon Goldbox today for $26.99!

I've just finished watching seasona one to four with my sister. It's the third time I've sat down and watched every episode, from beginning to end. I'll usually just pick a certain episode to watch, or a disk/arc.

My sister's gone back to uni now, so I don't know whether to carry on the rewatch or wait til she's back at Christmas.

She wants me to do the latter, but I really want to carry on watching!

Anyway, I hadn't watched much from the early seasons in ages - I'd usually choose an episode from seasons 4-7 to rewatch, so it was good. Reinforced a couple of things to me: still don't find Angel interesting, didn't find anything to like about Bangel and early-season!Willow is adorable. 🙂

This summer, during my non-studying hours, I rewatched the whole Buffy for the Ireallydon'tknowhowmanytime, and I'm currently doing a first real watch of Angel (I had seen a few episodes every now and then but I never really followed it before now).

I've re-watched BtVS for the 3rd time.

And I'm now halfway thru Angel Season 3. This first time I'm actually re-watching Angel. I was always more of a Buffy fan myself. But I'm having a blast.

It's amazing how Angel became a more interesting character after he left Sunnydale.

Drop everything and watch Dr. Horrible, lol!!! Each act is only about 15 minutes long, and there's only 3 of them, so you can easily finish it. 🙂

I think every BTVS character becomes way more interesting in Angel!
I'm not a big fan of Angel in BTVS, he's more "the boyfriend" I think, but in his own show, you get to see funny sides of his, and deeper!
Cordelia becomes herself a real hero, Wesley changes a lot, and you get to know Faith better too!

Buffy s5 at my bedroom, and Ats s5 at the living room (i.e. 2 DVDs). That's a lot of Spike goodness, yum. I really can't tell which time it is, but a lot more than 20, I can assure that. But that's because I've been watching since the first episode aired. And you know what, it doesn't get boring, it's never too much or enough.

Um, Angel did get deeper on his series. But they ruined Cordy's character for me. I do love her more, she's become very cute. But that's the problem. At first she was still Cordelia from Buffy. But then she turned too nice. But I still love her a lot on Angel. As for Wesley, it's even worse. I mean, I know he's hotter on Angel, and deeper. But he really made me laugh on Buffy, as short as it was. Then on Angel he became more serious, more and more as the show progressed. He wasn't funny anymore, he wasn't a sissy, which was why I love him on Buffy.
Faith to me, hasn't changed a lot. I mean in the better or worse sense. Although she is (still) a very deep character who's never black and white.

I'm doing my 2nd re-watch of Buffy (yeah, I'm a pretty new fan 😛), and I'm realizing that many of my opinions about the characters are changing.

I'm currently doing a full re-watch and like you, I'm watching BtVS and ANGEL together. I'm on the 12th episode of ANGEL season 4 ('Calvary') and the 16th episode of BtVS season 7 ('Storyteller). I love doing full series re-watches. It's so much fun watching them together especially where I'm at now with how epic and apocalyptic both shows are right now and with the awesome crossover with Faith. The only thing is you have to know is how to watch As4/Bs7 though as they don't line up exactly hence my being on 12 of A and 16 of BtVS. It's a lot of fun though and I'm enjoying it. Seasons 2 of ANGEL and 5 of BtVS are an awesome seasonally combo which you're almost on. Not really any crossovers but both seasons are phenomenal. (I just rambled on saying practically nothing, sorry lol.... enjoy your re-watch)

I not long ago did a rewatch of Angel. I have so much more love for it, outstanding. Buffy rewatch November.

I'm doing a Buffy rewatch with my mom right now, its her second time my fourth...I think. We're up to s3 of Buffy now we might do both once we get to season 4. Its fun to watch it with someone else.

I loved the fact that Cordelia became such a nice, caring person! She showed such sides of herself on Buffy on a few occasions, but she trully blossoms on Angel. The only time I thought she was too nice was the time she was acting in a commercial and just let the director treat her like crap. This time I really wished we could see some of her "I'm Queen C" act, but otherwise, I think her evolution is amazing!
I prefer goofy, clumsy, not-very-manly Weasley, but his character really changed, I think it's a good thing he didn't always stayed the Rogue Demon Hunter Wannabe. Even if Early-Weasley is (one of) the man of my life!
About Faith...When you just watch Buffy, it's something like: Faith arrives/Faith goes bad/Faith is in the coma/Faith awakes/And she still is bad/Faith leaves/Faith comes back and she is good again.
In Angel, we have an inside look into her changes, we get to see how sorry she is for everything she did, we see her accomplishing slowly the journey to redemption, and that is what I loved. I had more compassion for her character and liked her more after seeing her in Angel!

Although i just finished watching Buffy for the first time about two weeks ago, my friend and i plan to watch it all again soon. She hasnt rewatched it in about a year and i just want to watch it with a bit of comentary. I love to talk about shows while i watch them. 🙂

Once you get to season 4, start watching it with back to back episodes of Angel. Makes the crossovers more interesting, and it helps you to understand what's going in each show better. Gives you a lot more background to the characters, too.

I told my friend i wanted to do that and she thought i was crazy. I bet we'll do it anway 🙂

I second this. I'm always advocating people to watch them together. It's so much more enjoyable getting to watch both as they naturally progress and you get the crossovers that ACTUALLY cross over lol. Trust us, you'll like it so more if you watch them concurrently.
