CWDP is one of the best of S7, and we get to see Dawn, Buffy & Willow talk to the dead, which scene's did you prefer?

With Buffy were best, they we're really about something, mainly because the others weren't real talks but were mere tricks from the first.

i like when dawn was singing the anchovie song and i basically love all of her scenes

Yah, Dawn's was best. We never did figure out if that really was Joyce or The First. And what the hell did 'She won't choose you' mean? Hmm, so many questions. Still, a great episode. 😀

I like Buffy's scene. She had Holden to talk to, lucky girl. Willow talking with Cassie wasn't as good if Tara had been there and Dawn was kinda by herself, boring!

Was that ever really established or were we, the viewers, supposed to just interpret it that way? Because I, myself, was a bit confused. 😱

in an interview jane epsenson said it yeah i guess we were supposed to just assume it was the first

I liked Holden as well...I thought those scenes revealed a lot. I agree that the Willow scenes would have been better with Tara but the onse with Cassie put it third so...
Buffy
Dawn
Willow ...in that order for me

I never loved Dawn so much as I did in this episode. Anchovies song is just sooo cute, I even sing it sometimes.

Buffy's and Holden's parts are my favorite though, followed by Willow/Cassie-First, then Dawn's. Even though I love every bit of the episode. My favorite Buffy/Holden part, quick and very amusing:

Holden: I was just wondering, is it possible, even a little bit, that the reason you have trouble connecting to guys is because you think maybe they're not worth it? Maybe you think you're better than them.

Buffy: Say, there's that bloodlust I was looking for.

Holden: Struck a nerve.

Buffy: I'm gonna strike a nerve cluster in a minute, you don't get off this. I don't remember you being this annoying.

Holden: You don't remember me at all.

Buffy: Yes, I do.

Holden: Yeah, like, after 30 minutes of reminding. And I don't take it personally because clearly you were in your own little world in high school. All chosen. All destiny. Who could live with that for seven years and not feel superior?

Andrew: Check communications?
Jonathan: Check. Check.
Andrew: Check. Check.
Jonathan: Check.
Andrew: Check. Check.

i really like the Dawn scenes i thougth that they were really cool. especially the little anchovie song and where the TV wouldnt turn off and sty=uff that was awesome. But im still a little confused as to whether that was Joyce or the First but oh well it was still a really good episode. Buffy came in a close second i thought that Holden was a really good character. But yeah i agreee that the Willow scenes would have been better with Tara instead.

About Joyce being the first, I'm willing to accept this, but then what was the other thing there? And if Joyce was the first, then it would only make sence that the other thing was trying to help Dawn, to get her away form the first, right?

By the way, my favorites are:
Dawn
Buffy
Willow

The Buffy and Holden bit was a classic. I loved it. And in such an unusal way we found out SO much about Buffy but it is always easier to talk to a strange isn't it.

I like Willow's best. At first I wished Amber was there but I understood her point, it would be cruel to T/W fans if she was. And yes The First went a bit OTT with the whole suicide pitch.

Dawn pre-attack was cool, and the moment the microwave exploded my poster behind my TV fell down, scared the hell out of me!

Personally I liked all of the scenes.

Willow and Cassie were confusing and scary... thinking at first that Tara was actually trying to contact Willow.

Dawn and Joyce... definetly scary. When there was the banging and the demon thing laying on Joyce on the couch... very scary. But very good.

And Buffy and Holden... well, very good explanation of what was going on in Buffy's life and how she was dealing with it. Also, the fact that she does think that she is beneath all of her friends and stuff.

But, in the end, I voted for Buffy scenes... cuz she's my favorite, no matter what.

About Joyce being the first, I'm willing to accept this, but then what was the other thing there? And if Joyce was the first, then it would only make sense that the other thing was trying to help Dawn, to get her away from the first, right?

I forgot all about that other thing Kindred, but you're absolutely right.

I remember when I first read the Epenson interview in which she agreed with the interviewer when he said Joyce was just the first, I thought maybe Jane was joking. Then Joss also stated Joyce was the First in a separate interview so I had to accept it as fact.

"This sucks" I thought. How boring. I moved CWDP down from # 6 in my all time favourite episodes to # 32.

Now I'm all of a sudden liking CWDP again. Once more I find it fascinating.

And here's something else I forgot. The Summer's home is physically damaged. The first isn't supposed to have any real-world power in it's non-corporeal form. So if Joyce was just the First, what caused the destruction, and why?
