Cyclones

Australia is facing two cyclones at the moment, in the Eastern states a category 2 is lumbering toward land and is expected to make category 4 at land fall.
The Western coast has a category 4 which is expected to reach a category 5. The current scale is a 1 - 5, but the scale itself varies in different parts of the world. America has a low wind speed factor.
If the cyclone that is bearing down on the Western Australian coast was heading to America the scale would need to be updated as it would be a category 6, and maybe a category 7.
Neither of the storms, which are described as massive are liable to cross the coasts until evening another 12 hours

Cyclone Trevor has slowed on its path to the coast it has veered slightly to the east, it is currently being reported as a category 4 cyclone, it is currently six hundred kilometres wide.

The category 4 Cyclone Veronica has dramatically slowed on its approach to the Western Australian coast, all the time it has been increasing in strength, it has slowed so much it is thought it might alter its direction. So if it remains over water it might intensify then if it goes in another direction and pick up speed. Currently it is about 450 kilometres wide, the close towns are expecting an 11 meter storm surge.

What was Cyclone Trevor suddenly lost strength and became a rain depression, now we wait to see where the floods go.

Cyclone Veronica is still off the shore and moving slowly but increasing in power again. When it moves on the shore many beaches could cease to exist, the rainfall will probably be extreme. The towns of Port Hedland and Karratha are liable to be the worst hit, they are only 200 kilometres apart.

The media over here can be so crap, Ex cyclone Trevor has become a rain bearing depression and has wandered off in a SSE direction.
Cyclone Veronica ( Category 1) is moving SW but the media sources can't agree with each other as to where it is. The ABC can't agree with itself as to where it is.
In a couple of days it might head out to sea leaving massive floods.
