I forgot about The Kinks, how could I!?
Yeah you're right, how could you?! How could I?! I got these wonderful mixtapes from my friend like four years ago, with different songs by The Kinks, Zombies, Animals, Mamas & Papas, Beach Boys, Lovin' Spoonful, Jefferson Airplane, Van Morrison, The Band.. and maybe some other bands but anyways that was like all I listened to for a long time...

Pink Floyd is the best band that there ever was.

Dark side of the Moon should be the first album played on any new hi-fi, such a wide range of sounds from bells to money jangling to the actual ROCK 😀

The Wall - amazing double album great personal story behind it. if only half the people sing along to 'the wall parts 1,2,3' (thats the we don't need no education for the uneducated 😛 ) knew what it actually meant 🙁 the movie is also fantastically surreal.

Animals is a great set and even if it wasnt the track titles are genius

Piper at the gates of dawn, if only for the genius 'bike'

'Wish you were here' is my personal favourite. the brilliant 'shine on you crazy diamond' dedicated to the original front man syd barret who went a tad insane after one too many happy pills, and the title track is simply outstanding

also love hendrix, espcally 'all along the watch tower' usually dig out one of his albums for when i have alot of editing work to get done, close to the deadline

also lately i've been listening to the genius of leanord cohen !

I grew up listenin to Queen, through my dad and a bit of Beatles too.. some bands i like are Nirvana, Sex Pistols, Led Zep, Pearl Jam and more..

Of ALL the bands mentioned so far you have only really heard anything from the Beatles? Seriously?

No Nirvana? Led Zep? Pearl Jam? REM? Queen?

Well Nirvana is considerably newer, but yeah heard them. Used to like them but grew out of it. REM heard the mainstream songs but they kinda bore me. Queen, the odd one or two. Had "I Want to Break Free" in my head for the last few days.

Im bad with memory and names and stuff so I may have heard some more and just not realised. The amount of random cds we play at work. Actually think about it we've played all of the Power Ballards albums at least a few times so will have heard a range.

I didn't think it was possible to grow out of Nirvana. My love of the band has only increased over the years.

You should maybe check out some of REM's albums, the singles they release are pretty good in general but most of my favourite songs from the last two or three cd's have been album tracks.

I have to admit that when it comes to music, especially rock, i'm a little obsessed and i unfairly expect everyone to be like me and know every band member of every band as well as every track on every album they released. I have to remember that not everyone in the world worships rock music as their god! 🙂

I think Nirvana was just a teenage transition thing, getting into non-mainstream music but havn't listened to Nirvana for ages.

I dont mind you being obsessed, but im too lazy to get obsessed with things.

Staying with the Nirvana thing...I have to admit that "Smells like Teen Spirit" was one of my all-time favourite singles...

hendrix...machine gun...

lynard skynard...free bird...

and that baracuda song...i forgot who sang that...that chick with the crazy vocals...

"Barracuda" by Heart...a bit too contrived for my tastes, but I can see why you like 'em...lots of people did, and still do!
