not as great as the previous episodes, but it was decent.

I'm intrigued by Holtz, but that new DRUNKEN Buffy 1.5 sidekick needs to get off my tv.

Oh, I really didn't like this episode. The scenes with Angel and the baby were just awful, and embarrassing to watch. And the story was just stupid.

So yeah, I didn't like it. 😛

Are you talking about Holtz's sidekick? I dont think she looks like Buffy, but I agree about the crap factor. She sucks. Holtz is badass though.

DAD

The Good;
Love all the Lilah stuff, especially love 'Files and records' girl (who presumably gets killed by the Beast in season 4). The seige of the Hyperion is also good as is the reveal of Lorne's message

The Bad;
Won't the LAPD notice all this going on?

Best line:
Holtz; "I think you'll find your modern popular culture references wasted on me" (No kidding!)

Jeez, how did they get away with that?

Apocalypses: 5

Angel Cliches

Inverting the Hollywood cliche;

In disguise; 8

DB get's his shirt off; 12

Cordy's tatt; 9,

Cheap Angel; 7

Cordy: 11
Angel: 14
Wes: 5
Doyle; 1
Gunn; 1
Lorne; 2

Kills: 3 demons, 2 humans and a vamp for Wes, a demon for Gunn, 4 vamps, 4 demons and 4 humans for Angel
Cordy: 5 vamps, 3½ demons
Angel; 32 vamps, 45 and 1/2 demons, 7 humans
Doyle; 1 vamp

Total number of Angel Investigations: Lorne moves into the Hyperion and joins the gang. Most would say that this is the definitive Angel Investigation line-up?
6, Angel, Cordy, Wes, Gunn, Fred and Lorne

Angel Investigations shot:
Angel: 11
Wes; 1

Packing heat; literally, Wes with a flamethrower (why not use that more often?)plus Angel with explosives
Wes; 5
Doyle; 1
Angel; 1
Gunn; 1

Notches on Fang Gang bedpost:
Cordy: 3 ?+Wilson/Hacksaw Beast+Phantom Dennis
Angel: 5; Buffy, Darla and The Transcending Furies
Wes; 2; Virginia and the bleached blonde

Kinky dinky:

Captain Subtext;
Angel has a woman's taste in clothes according to CC.

Know the face, different character; 4

Parking garages;
5,

Guantanamo Bay;

Buffy characters on Angel; 16
Wetherby, Collins and Smith. Angel, Cordy, Oz, Spike, Buffy, Wes, Faith, Darla, Dru, The Master, Anne, Willow and Harmony

Questions and observations;
Justine's sister is portrayed by Pat Tallman (her stunt double) who was one of my favourite characters from Babylon 5. Gunn refers to his cousin, I thought Elana was his only family? Fred is a computer expert now, just like Willow. Connor likes Angel in vampface which explains why he has no problem with Jasmine's true form. Cordy comments that Connor has Angel's brow. Holtz has killed 378 vamps in 9 years which is good going, in six years by my count Buffy has only killed about 150 vamps/demons and she's the most successful Slayer ever (although she has spent much of that time running away to LA and dead).
Marks out of 10; 9/10, slam bam all the way.

This episode wasn't a favourite. Why did baby Connor prefer his dad in vamp mode? It didn't make much sense....

Interesting fact, for the US readers... the woman who is working as the file keeper is 'Flo' from the Progressive commercials I noticed.

Stephanie Romanov always delivered her lines so excellently. "So what we're dealing with is a single minded vengeance machine with a bloodlust to match. That's just...awesome."

Fred is a computer expert now, just like Willow.
She was pretty much an everything expert, though. haha.

Uhm..average episode, nothing special. I love how Angel doesn't let people come near Connor LOL. I already can't stand Justine...blah.. but it was nice to see a graveyard in Angel..reminds me of Buffy's days.

I really like this episode Angel with Baby Connor is just too adorable. It's so sweet seeing him with the baby and you see how much he loves his son with all his heart. The scene in the sun where he says he would get him to the hospital even on the sunniest day is so touching.

Stupid Buffy 1.5... I'll never forgive her for doing what she did to Wesley... although, he got a little revenge with the whole "I'll take away your bucket," thing. Bahahaha! 😀

Hello, everyone. I'm new here but have enjoyed reading your posts and opinions about one of my favorite tv shows. I never watched the show when it was actively running, but got hooked when I was giving my baby early morning feedings and caught the re-runs on TNT. Now I watch the shows over and over again! Love them!

I had one question that someone may have addressed in another thread and I may have missed (although I try to read as many as I can). When Connor was born and as Angel began bonding with him....wouldn't that be the perfect happiness? I'm speaking as a mother of three children and I know that there is nothing more perfect than the love for your child(ren). I apologize if this has all ready been addressed...please direct me to right thread if it has.

Thanks!

Wow, I never realized that- she's so "up" in those commercials that I hadn't put the 2 together. I loved the Files & Records gal, one of my favorite W&H employees!

First of all, welcome to the board! And secondly, that's exactly how I started watching Buffy in syndication on FX 9 yrs ago- while feeding the baby early in the morning. Brings back good memories. 🙂

We do talk about that often, although more in reference to his birth in Lullaby. I think that most of us conclude that even though it's probably one of the best moments of his life (live or undead LOL), there is so much going on, that the fear for Connor's life makes it much less than perfect. Even in this episode, Lorne tells Angel that he needs to relax, that Connor can read his anxiety & tension. Well, we'd all be tense too if all those different factions were trying to destroy our children!

As for this episode, I really like it, esp in compared to some of the episodes that follow (like the yawnfest of Provider). Loved Lilah in here, she wants to experiment on the baby, geesh! Lorne's plan was brilliant. And Angel attacking Linwood, giving him the slash on his face. I loved the ending- we're used to seeing the Fang Gang walking toward the camera like that, now we have the baby too!

While I don't like AI gushing over the baby, baby Connor (well, the triplets that played him) has stolen my heart. That has got to be the cutest baby ever! And that comes from a mother that thinks her own babies were pretty darn adorable. :tongue3:

I can't stand Holtz, although I like the actor & his performance. Same thing with Justine.

Fun quiz: can you get all 10 questions about this episode correct? I did! http://www.bbc.co.uk/apps/ifl/cult/gigaquiz?path=cult_angel3&infile=cult_angel3&pool=dad10

dang - 8/10 for the quiz :-(
Thanks Visiongirl! That makes sense that being scared for your child's life and whether you are capable of even raising this little miracle could interfere with the total bliss thing. And I agree, the babies playing Connor were so adorable!!!!!!

Holtz's voice is awesome. It's so deep and creepy. Justine annoyed the living crap out of me...there was just something about her (can't pinpoint it)!! Other than that, their characters didn't really move me much.

I am with Visiongirl on this. Perfect love =/= perfect happiness. In fact I would say it's quite the opposite I was (am, always will be) in a constant state of worry and my kids aren't (as far as I am aware) being hunted my evil mobs of demons.

Also there is this

"Perhaps the best-known birth hormone is oxytocin, the hormone of love [...] levels peak at birth [...] The high levels continue after birth, culminating with the birth of the placenta, and then gradually subside"

From here

That rush of love when baba first comes is at least partly hormone induced and as such isn't present in Daddy.
