Having lost my hard drive not too long ago to a sneaky virus, I thought I'd do my part to warn all of you about a dangerous new strain I just read about.

You can read about it HERE.

I suppose it goes without saying that you should all be careful when opening your mail.

Take care guys.

I saw this at another site I visit (Unitethecows.com).

Even if you dont have the worm, or dont know if u do, u can download this utility to check if u have the virus worm. Once it detects the virus worm, it will remove it and clean up the registry for you.

check it out at this site

Win32.Mydoom.A Removal Utility is a utility that cleans a local machine affected by Win32.Mydoom.A. The tool will search for and terminate any worm processes found in memory. It will then scan all drives on the local machine and, if the worm is found, will fix any modified registry keys. It will also remove datafiles dropped by the worm

Is there any clue of what might appear in the title subject? As I tend to get quite a lot of emails from people I don't know, related to the boards so I can never tell.

The message sports one of several different random subject lines, such as "Mail Delivery System," "Test" or "Mail Transaction Failed." The body of the e-mail contains an executable file and a statement such as: "The message contains Unicode characters and has been sent as a binary attachment." and "The message cannot be represented in 7-bit ASCII encoding and has been sent as a binary attachment."

Thanks for the warning Old Master, I used to open those emails but I wont anymored 🙂

this is why I filter all my mail now.

If I don't recognise the sender and the subject is 'hello' or something generic it doesn't get opened

Thanks for the warning 🙂 there's some pretty nasty ones around at the moment...
